Poured from can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a medium golden color with a huge head of white billowy foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave some foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is lower on the malt smells and heavier on the hop. The lighter malt smells are of a light bready smell mixed with just a little bit of an orange aroma. The hop is rather big and bold with a big pine aroma being the heaviest, but having plenty of grapefruit and earthy hops mixed within. Overall the brew smells like it is on the drier side with a good hit of resinous hop.
Taste – The taste begins with a drier cracker like taste mixed with a lighter pine and grapefruit hop. The grapefruit gains a little bit of strength toward the middle, but maintains a lighter profile overall. The pine grows stronger and stronger as the flavor moves onto the end and is joined by some more herbal hop flavors along the way. Some earthy hops and a little bit of tangerine pop up at the end of the taste and mix with the drier cracker and other hop flavors, to leave a rather crisp and moderately resinous hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The moderateness of the carbonation and body is a nice balance for the crisp taste and easy drinkability, all while upholding all the hop flavors to a good extent.
Overall – A rather crisp and moderately resinous IPA that is rather easy to drink. A pleasant IPA overall.

Can. Grapefruit taste with nice clean finish, clear color, white head, very drinkable IPA! Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 12, 2014
Poured up on tap into a tumbler at Mackenzie River Pizzeria, Bozeman, where it has a clear gold body that supports a nearly white head of foam. The modest aroma offers up citrus and sweet malts that have a thin edge of gummy bear citrus candy. The taste delivers a tasty jumble of hop bitterness, hop flavor and some malty sweetness. The hops go from tangelo and grapefruit and pine to a sliver of mango and faint mint. This is nice and hoppy with a pleasing level of resiny hop bitterness. paulmetzger (154) - Pocatello, Idaho, USA - JUN 4, 2006
Mountain Brewers Beer Fest 2006. Lack of appearance judging reflects opaque plastic sampling cup.
Second best of BeerFest. Heavy grass/pine/grapefruity hopping. Good tasty IPA

Very nice IPA, lots of big hop notes in the nose. Follows through into the flavor, with some rich and somewhat sweet caramel maltiness. Well balanced and really tasty. douglas88 (9192) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 7, 2009
On tap in Idaho Falls at 2009 NABA. Pours a light straw color with a large white head. The aroma was great; a huge citrus hop note. Light caramel as well. The taste is great; lots of bitter hops, citrus, light caramel and oranges. I had a lot of IPAS that day, and this was one of the better ones. killjoy966 (677) - Washington, USA - OCT 2, 2009
I thought this was great IPA. Had on tap at Bacchus Pub in Bozeman. Nice and hoppy but with a solid malt backbone. Even tasted a little spicy. My first BBC beer and I’d love to try more. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 5, 2010
Pours a nice deep amber color. Aromas of citrus. Strong hop flavors with malts and a dry finish. jrob21 (3690) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 5, 2011
On tap at McKenzie Pizza again. A nice ipa bordering on a double with the caramel malt and full bodied sweetness it has going on. Citrus aroma and orange sweet candy flavor. Pretty tasty.
