on tap-pours an off white head that laces and dark amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt-caramel, slight pine. Taste is slightly sweet light/medium malt-caramel, secondary pine hops. mbgrayson (806) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - JUL 26, 2009
Hoppier than most ambers. I don’t like it all that much. I prefer smooth to bitter, and malt to hops. The quality here is fine if you like pale ales. Have to decline giving a thumbs up. Skyview (6099) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 12, 2007
Third stop during the ABA Beer Tour ’07 in Bozeman, Montana. Sampled at the Bozeman brewery brewpub on tap. Pours a clear coppery red brew with a creamy off-white head that dissolves to a fine film with good lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, slight citrus hops with a touch of grapefruit zest. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel and light orange peel. Finish is slightly sweet with less hop bitterness in the taste compared to it’s scent. A very good balanced amber ale. tomciccateri (1035) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - JUL 1, 2007
On draught at the tap room, metered by an orange 3-drink tag. Pours a clear amber with a thick and lasting white head and lace. Light-to-medium-bodied with a full mouthfeel, nice hoppy flavor and bitterness. Well-carbonated, with an even maltiness. jake65 (4000) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - AUG 31, 2006
On Tap: good amber color with a moderate off white head. Blend of malts, a bit of roastiness, caramels, light hops, and a bit of citrus sweet. Medium in intensity, but pleasant overall.

Decent, amber with some nice flavors, balanced and easy to drink. Some tad sweet fruitiness, with some toasted maltiness and just a hint of herbal hoppiness. BückDich (5477) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUN 13, 2006
Sampled at the NABA 06 Fest: Nutty, earthy, plenty of malts but neutral. That’s a nice summation of what this beer was all about. Aside from that, it was a brownish color, had good head retention. Dusty mouthfeel and a lingering sweet tail. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 10, 2006
Crystal clear amber body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, peach, caramel, light orange. Taste is medium sweet, peach, orange, light caramel. Light-medium body with some stickiness. montanabeerman (9) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - MAR 6, 2006 does not count
From a growler, direct from the brewery. Nice off-white rocky head. Some lacing. Light hoppy aroma. Good flavor, with strong hop bitterness and citrus notes. Not as malty as I would hope and a thin mouthfeel. Decent session beer and its a common find here in the Bozeman area. I agree with willblack however, too bad it doesnt have a more distinctive character. willblake (2664) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - JAN 12, 2004
Noticable cascade hoppiness that is enjoyable, but also disappointing. I want a Bozone with more unique local character, not sure what that is, but this isn't it. Always on special at some bar or other in Bozeman, and a VERY consumable session beer. Clean and refreshing, nice head that sticks around a while. Great bar beer.
