This is great beer I drink very gladly every Winter and Spring. And every year it has a different etiquette, last two years was really ugly, but the beer was same, great as always. Monsieur_Zorz (1) - CROATIA - APR 16, 2015 does not count
Probably the best beer in the whole assortiman of the Zagrebačka pivovara brewery. If you have to choose what to drink in Zagreb, that’s the one. ogivlado (8108) - Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 21, 2002

Winter doesnt pass that I dont try this beer. Every year it has a little different taste and a different label of some famous Croatian painter. Rich head, dark golden color, pleasant hoppy aroma, nice body and nice aftertaste. Winter woudnt be the same without it.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2007 0.5 l bottle, pouring pale golden body with medium head. Aroma is nice sweet, bit fruity malty with springtime flowers originating from hops. Flavor is sweetish, pleasant with those flowers dominating through it. Reminds of Tuborg Gold, only better. For the style, full bodied, really nice oily textured. Not too much carbonated, why it should be anyway. Very pleasant finish, bit of honey there. One of the best Pilseners I’ve ever had, specially home, in the warm pre-Christmas spirit when you enjoy it with the person you care the most :) Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 23, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) A Croatian christmas beer, now that’s a first for me. Not much deeper golden than a standard lager, but the head is neat and creamy. Decent body. But it’s the hops that really makes a difference in this beer. Very refined, flowery hops adding mostly aroma but not so much bitterness. Nothing close to a christmas beer by Danish standards, but very nice indeed. 261104 FireGlider (702) - Zagreb, CROATIA - JAN 8, 2015
Bottled, small foam, clear golden colour. Strong aroma of hops, taste is light bitter, not bitter as I used to from Ožujsko. Quite appealing drink. Marko (6104) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 23, 2004

Well now, It was past time I rerated this one. This poured a pale golden body with a medium sized white head, unimpressive but lasting. Tart herbal hoppy notes in the nose, weak metal perhaps? No real maltiness pops up. The taste has some nice breadiness, light herbal hopiness to help things going, weak weak fusels perhaps though. Hmm, am I imagining toffee? No, I’m not. Strange, but appreciated. Bitter/salty hoppy aftertaste, lasting. Solid, balanced macro lager, unfortunately not special enough to be a proper winter seasonal. It would be greatly appreciated, like the great Ožujsko Strong, that they killed for no sensible reason at all, was, if it was year-round, but really, throwing out only during winter something that really should be your basic lager? Please. At least this year’s label is very nice. All in all, don’t expect wonders, but the extra 1% and a cleaner, yet more interesting profile than pretty much any other macro on the Croatian market is and will be appreciated.
1.5l plastic bottle. Odd that they would bottle this in those. Hm. Anyway, it poured a big fluffy white head that went away fast. It’s of a darker orange colour. The nose is malty and caramelly with some hints of honey and dust. The taste feels a bit different this time. It’s stilly very nice though. It’s dominated by hops which creep from the lemony and bready base. A tasty, well, pils, rivalling the Czech ones I’ve tried. The regular Ožujsko floweriness keeps itself to the background, and it’s far from a full blossom. I don’t like this year’s label much, the one on the pic was nicer.
My no.100 beer. Nice. The label changes every year, and is always painted by some famous Croatian artist. And it always looks great. The beer is not great, but it’s quite good. Very hoppy flavor (still those great flowery hops), a bit bitter, but not much. It’s worth trying more than once. 7/3/7/4/15
Bottled, 0,50l. Clear golden color with medium frothy white head and fizzy bubbles. Aroma of grassy hops, hay, yeast, malt, vanilla and light citrus note. Taste starts rich malty, followed by sour fruitiness and rounded with crisp and dry hoppiness. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Thumbs up for Zagrebačka pivovara, great Christmas present :)
