I can’t believe the negative ratings I’ve seen here for Brahma Chopp. The most likely reasn is that reviewers never got to taste the real thing which is UNPASTEURIZED and prsunmably not available outside Brazil.
Having lived in Rio for 2 years 1956-58 and having tasted beer in many European countries and other venues I would say that the only country where I had beer as good as B/C was Germany. I also had excellent Heineken in St. Maarten , a Dutch possession for a long time, which apparently gets good Heineken beer somehow. Heineken available in the US is garbage, like all major bottled/canned beer available in this country since all of it is pasteurized.
PASTEURIZATION RUINS EVEN THE BEST BEER. I drink Pilsner Urquell since it’s the least bad, but I cry when I imagine how good the real thing must be in the Czech Republic.
IS THERE NO WAY OF GETTING BOTTLED, UNPASTEURIZED BEER OTHER THAN THOSE INFERIOR "MICROBREWERY"
PRODUCTS? WHY CAN’T BRAHMA CHOPP BE IMPORTED REFRIGERATED?

Excelente Cerveja Brasileira! Encorpada e bem saborosa! Na minha opinião, a melhor cerveja do Brasil! dmpgps (1) - USA - JUL 16, 2009 does not count
Great Overall Beer...Nice balance of flavor and colour. Very refreshing! cmc619 (501) - California, USA - MAY 5, 2013
First tried this in 2012 on university trip to Brazil (had this at many small restaurants in Rio); again on business trip in 2013. Delicious, soft, reminiscent of Czech-style pils. Served in a small glass so it stays cold. Super easy to drink. At the Sao Bento bar in downtown Sao Paulo, service was the best - they had a fresh one ready just as you were putting down your empty glass! Really just an excellent beer when fresh.

Of the brazilian popular beers, is the best. Good price and a taste that dont become acid after drinking for a while. RioRick (1) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 12, 2014 does not count
I lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for some 5 years ... this bottled version that is available here in the U.S. does not "compete" with the real draft version that is available in bars in Brazil ... this beer is not
Pasteurized in Brazil, however, the bottled version here in the U.S. Some taste, and flavor is compromised. Sdfabiosilva (4) - - JUL 24, 2012 does not count
Gostosa. Melhor das populares brasileiras. Vale a pena degustar com um bom churrasco brasileiro. Shoiti (1) - - JUN 23, 2012 does not count
It’s light although it has a good bitter taste. It’s for sure stronger than Budweiser, and I could say, at least in Brazil, that it’s one of the best beer you could try.
