UPDATED: MAR 24, 2013 On cask at Sherlock Holmes in Aarhus. Good Guinness like stout, but like most it doesnt measure up to the mother of all stouts. It is one of the better ones out there though. A little lighter and thinner than beforementioned queen of the blacks, with more bitterness in the heart of it, and quite buttery in the head. The carbonation is very soft even for this type of beer and the main noteable touch is one of liqourice on both the back of the tongue and in the roof of the mouth. It was quite interesting, and I may be coming back for another round one of these days.

Keg @ Bishops Arms, Hornsgatan. Pitch black, creamy and long lasting tanned head. Roasted and creamy aroma, ash, milk chocolate, whipped cream and coffee. Thin, almost watery mouthfeel, soft carbonated. Very British taste, floral and earthy, roasted barley, coffee and chocolate. Mid-dry and chalky finish.

Black. Nice roasted barley and chocolate aroma. Dryish taste with light acidity and light bitterness. Fairly mild flavour. Full body with a soft mouthfeel. Overall, a decent stout. Better than Guinness, which is rather similar.

0.5 draft.
A clear, very dark brown color with a large, lasting, cream-colored, nitro head. A sweet, fruity aroma with an obvious dose of dark malts and some Guinness-like properties - must be the nitrogen. A malty, chocolate flavor with coffee and some lactose on the side; simple. A medium body, a creamy as hell texture, and a flat carbonation. Finish is medium long and bittersweet, overall not a bad beer but not recommended either.

440ml can BB 8/8/16 Lovely roasted malt aroma. Poured black with widget surge and cream head and nice lacing. For a stout this has minimal bitterness and a smooth finish. Bit thin at the back end though.

Tin, 500ml from Tesco in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, Wales. Black with cream head, short lived. This was quite a creamy, fizzed beer, some bitterness, some charcoal hints but also quite a CO2 hit. Just okay for me.
