Bottle at home. Pours dark brown to black with not much head. Aroma is coffee, liquorice and some chocolate. Moderate bitter. Thin mouthfeel, a bit watery. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Vladivostok (491) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - NOV 13, 2013
Typical stout aromas but not as opaque as many stouts. Lightly hopped, its overriding taste sensation is of dark chocolate. Quite good but a little thin for my palate. Brandman (2961) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 18, 2013
For the sake of the social interaction just numeral ratings and/or some highlighted attributes. Roasted malts, some acidic notes, chocolate. harrisoni (19318) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2013
Bottle from Tesco drunk at home. Dark brown almost black beer with a thin lasting beige head. Roasty chocolate and some liquorice on the aroma. Actually I rather like this. The best Brains beer I think I’ve had. A little thin in the mouth, but highly drinkable. Yes, very drinkable and not much hop or dryness on the finish. Good stout. My kind of stout. rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2013

Sample at SBWF 2013.
Black with a tan head. Soft aroma of light roasted malt and light coffee. The taste was also light with notes of coffee, dark bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Rather creamy mouthfeel with some bitterness in the finish.

Bottle from Tesco, pours near black with a beige fine head, notes of cocoa and blackcurrant on the nose, creamy and roasty in the mouth, dry finish with a burnt bitter edge and a faint tang of blackcurrant. A nice dry stout. jmgreenuk (9978) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - SEP 3, 2013
Bottle from Tesco’s. Poured a deep chocolate brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is of roasted malt. The flavour is medium bitter with malt, liqourice, some chocolate and surprisingly a little alcohol too. Dommod2011 (728) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2013
Dark black non-amber pour. Even a half-decent stout is a good shout and at £1.50 a go you can’t argue with this. How long will people continue to chase that elusive killer beer at ridiculous prices when there is fairly good pickings to be had at a fraction of the price I wonder? Bit burnt, little thin, but enjoyable. OwainTurner (425) - Leicester, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 19, 2013
Bottle from Tesco! Very dark caramel (completely opaque)... Lovely rich chocolate raisin taste.. sweet fruits with citrus peel finish. Warm and smooth
