Clear copper with small white foam ring. Aroma and taste are of decent English bitter. Short lasting aftertaste. (Velp 201401)

DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2013 Drab brown bitter with Weetabix, toffee and spruce notes... but a good one. Pours brilliant russet topped with a shrinking atoll of frith. Wasn’t he in The Hobbit? Aroma of vegetable stock, watery gravy, cheap tinned bitter, Crunchy bar warmed in an aluminium saucepan. For a mass produced pasteurised brown bitter from Bulko Spar this is sneakingly complex. Pine cone, butter and hedgerow. Sometimes drab brown bitter just hits the spot.

Bamsen78 (5487) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 7, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of hops. Bitter, slightly roasty flavour of hops, with touches of cocoa, enriched by sparse malty and fruity notes. Mildly bitter finish. OK.

Lowenbrau (4514) - Asturias, SPAIN - NOV 1, 2013
500ml bottle. Toffee, some coffee and buttery aroma. Pours dark gold-amber, quite clear, with little vanishing off-white head, some lacing. Medium body, silky texture, soft carbonation. Taste is buttery, toffee, some roasty coffee notes, some caramel. Smooth, balanced and season beer.

djoeye (4806) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 30, 2013
500 ml clear bottle abv 4.2, bought at K Kilpishalli Finland. Vanilla head, dark golden, or a little dark amber body. Spicy malty scents, coffee and lots of hops. Average mouthfeel with some roasted bitter style. The flavour has hops, caramel malts, hints of walnut. Ending is not longlasting, it’s dry and contains nutty malts. Overall alright, and quite mild for being a bitter.
