Cask; Regular.
"Brewed to a recipe combining pale and crystal malts with choicest traditional ale hop varieties. The beer has a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish with fruit and hop notes, a strong ale which is distinctively hoppy."

Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A clear deep amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of caramel, bready malts, slight red berries, some mineral and subtle earthy hops. Taste of caramel, bready malts, some red berries, a hint of mineral, a touch of yeast and subtle spicy, earthy hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A soft, slightly fruity, spicy hop bitterness in the finish. A simple, malty bitter with a touch of mineral, fruit and subtle English hops. Ok.

My Bottom Line:
This classic Brown Bitter relies, as expected, on the usual blend of silky caramel malts and balancing leafy hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the shiny deep amber glow.
-Yeast character very little fruitiness.
-Mineral undercurrents (hard water) are tasted throughout.
-This is good, but perhaps too generic.

On cask at The Liverpool Arms, Conwy.

Pale amber in colour with a hint of sourness in the profile which mellows as the pint goes down. A fair degree of bitterness without much aroma. Real old school best bitter which is very light in flavour but nonetheless very drinkable.

2015-09-18. Crisp golden amber, with a small beige head and lace. 3+ Mild aroma of sweet grains and caramel. Flavour is similar with caramel and sweet grainy malt. 6+ Smooth average body, soft carbonation. Decent but not particularly exciting. Cask at Prince of Wales, Cardiff.
