SA Gold is a full-flavoured, hoppy and refreshing golden ale, brewed at the home of the famous Brains SA in Wales. Careful use of Target hops creates a satisfying bitterness, perfectly balanced by vibrant citrus aromas and complex hop flavours from late-hopping using Cascade and Styrian Goldings. A deliciously satisfying and refreshing pint!

500 ml bottle.
Pours a golden colour with a white small head. Pungent aroma of Styrian Goldings, English toffee and honey. Flavour is, surprise surprise, overly dominated by Goldings, with some tangy bitter hops, flowers and some toffee again. Light bodied, slick and somewhat oily mouthfeel (because of Goldings) and a malty, slightly bitter finish. I don’t like Goldings, yet I’m still drinking this. Drinkable.

ALLOVATE (3063) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 30, 2012
Bright orange gold with irregularly sized bubbles and a depleting, sudsy white head. Bready, starchy and oddly yeasty nose with just a little caramelised lemon conserve sweetness. Gassy and watery thin on the palate. A sharp, weedy hop backend is outstanding atop some sunny toasted grain flavours. Moderately bitter with a rubbery aftertaste that thankfully fades quickly. Subtle honey-like sweetness saves it from the monotone as it warms. The mouthfeel becoming more and more soapy as it goes too. A disappointing Blonde Ale. Nothing works!! Palme (4823) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 22, 2012
Sampled from 0.5l bottle @ Ølfestival København 2012. A near clear straw-golden one with a small and quickly sidesticking just off-white head. The aroma is light hoppy, some acidity also. Citrus and malts. Not extreme. It has a thin and almost watery texture and it’s average carbonated. Feels at first light sweet in the mouth but the hops kicks in after a while and makes is somewhat fruity. More citrus and perhaps some peachy tones here as well. Ends light mouthdrying in a lasting finish. Not bad! 10.05.2012
