Jan. '17. A 0.5 l bottle, thanks Marko! It poured a clear ruby body with a small head atop. Quite pleasant aroma, lightly vinous, some bread, hints of caramel and brown sugar. Flavor was straightforwardly bitter, with dry caramel, biscuit, bread... Simplistic, not bad, but a typically bland representative of its style. Medium bodied with longer finish that showed some distinct cardboard-like bitterness. Not really a big fan of the style, okay for low ABV I guess.

Amber colour bitter. Nothing on nose. Bitter notes in taste not much else. Unremarkable

Bottle at home. Pours clear, light amber with medium white head. Good lacing on the glass. Aroma of wet bread, hay, caramel, dark fruit and toast. The taste is toasted malt, a faint hint of caramel, dark fruit again and a bitter, resiny aftertaste. The body is thin, the mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation for the style. All in all, a fair thirst quenching bitter.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2017 Bottle as part of a festive mixed box. Quite a pleasant bitter, pours nicely with a thin head that retains. Caramel and biscuit taste, a good session beer I could happily sit and drink.

Bottle 50cl. @home poured into pint glass. Clear medium amber, good frothy off-white head, fairly lasting, good lacing; aroma toasted malts, caramel, toffee, hay; taste light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, caramel, bready; malty sweetbitter aftertaste, bitter resin notes, bit earthy; light body, watery texture, soft carbonation; simple and down to earth, pleasant bitter.

Not one of Brakspears best beers by a long chalk. Must be aimed at the southern softies market. It’s poor but that’s about average for this Brewery, I think they to resurrect the Pope in the family to make this one better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice amber colour, virtually no head just a sort of froth lacing. Bitter hops and caramel aroma. Taste is of caramel, toffee, malt and a bitter metallic finish. Only OK.
