"A beer conceived by Head Brewer Jeremy Moss, to celebrate the return of Brakspear brewing to Oxfordshire. This is a triple fermented, triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles.

With its high alcohol content and bottle conditioning, this is a beer that will go on to develop further complexity as it matures in its bottle."

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 9/20
HULK777 (646) - - AUG 29, 2013
Butterscotch, denatured alcohol, and honney hints in the crisp aroma. Butterscotch and ruccola flavour. Good bitterness in the aftertaste. Strange "bridge" though between the sweet taste and the bitter aftertaste.

Grumbo (4290) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2017

john44 (3456) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2017
Bottle. Reddish-brown in colour. Very fruity (very orange citrusy, marmalade; tropical fruits). Heavily malted (toasted, caramel, toffee). Hoppy (grassy, spicy, peppery hops). Rich, sweet, fruity, slightly spicy strong ale; noticeable saltiness. Nice fruit/malt/hop balance. Alcohol very evident. Malty, bitter finish. Very nice beer! (2011-06-12)

50cl bottle shares at Leighton’s had tasting on Level 42, London. Many thanks to Fergus for this one. it pours a clean light Amber color with a minimal white head. Aroma is sweet and chemical medicinal with some spicy note. Taste is also quite sweet musty and medicinal. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Overall, bad

Theydon_Bois (21487) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAY 24, 2016
Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to Fergus, 24/05/16. Lightly hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is varnish, spice, tarte fruit esters, sharp bitter notes, not overly pleasant. Taste comprises caramel, fruit loaf, less of the sharp and bitter, dates, Xmas cake. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so ... nose lets this down a few points.

Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 24, 2016
Old bottle thanks to Fergus at level 42. It pours murky deep brown with a thick Biere head. The aroma is earthy, dirty, brown bread, nail varnish remover, candy, melon, old musty apple and candy. The taste is earthy, musty, old dirty apple, earth, damp leaves, alcohol, pear drops, barnyard and wet cardboard with a dry, musty finish. Medium body and foamy carbonation. Pretty knackered.

cgreb (422) - Marburg, GERMANY - NOV 6, 2015
Bottle - Clear brown beer with a beige head. Light caramel aroma. Yeasty. Alcohol note. Would benefit from a bit more maltiness. Hints of toffee flavour. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation.

ManVsBeer (11190) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2015
Bottle. A pre-ratebeer signup rate for me, many moons ago, although it’s not too dissimilar from the current lower strength version. Dark amber, fairly smooth in the palate, some sweetness, some fruitiness.

Hopmaestro (1825) - Örebro, SWEDEN - AUG 25, 2015
Aoma of flowers, malt, caramel and red berries. Strong malt, semi-hoppy flavor with a medium body. Bitter in the aftertaste with a alcohol bite. There is a berry like presence in here.

KyotoLefty (10810) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 11, 2015
Bottle from a supermarket in London, 2013, as Brakspear Triple. Rather faint nose, caramel, earth, some estery yeast, apricot, hay. Amber-orange, clear, with a fine bubbly head. Sweet malts, some caramel and crackers, Lightly fruity, apricot, orange hops, grassy, grainy. Hard to categorize this. Prickly, peppery, citrus hop finish, though not hugely bitter, with crackers. Full, smooth body, though not too heavy. Prickly carbonation. Nice, but not really enough flavor for the strength.
