Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Marris Otter, Black, and Crystal malts, Oats, Target hops.
Launched as a 7.2% abv bottle conditioned beer in 2005 when the brewery moved to Witney. In 2011 briefly switched to filtered in 330ml bottles, then back to bottle conditioned at 6.7%, later returning to 500ml bottles. Name changed from Triple to Triple III in 2015.
Thanks to the two fermentations in the Brakspear ’Double Drop’ system, this highly aromatic and satisfying strong beer delivers its rich flavour with subtlety and balance. Crystal, Black and Maris Otter pale malts provide the backbone of this outstanding rich beer. Hops are added three times to provide a good balance between bitterness and fragrance. This is a triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles.

Bottle. Dark bronze appearance with a small head. Excellent malty flavour and a full flavour. Cannot believe that I am giving this score to a beer from the Marstons empire. Very rarely I say this about a beer they produce but it is certainly worth checking out.

Pours amber with a small off-white head which quickly fades to a ring. Aroma of some malt, caramel and fruit with some hints of cereal and spice. Taste of dark fruit, sourness, malt and treacle. Quite sweet with a light bitterness.

500ml bottle served cellar cool in a 1/2 glass for topping up. Honey brown with a white head. Fruity and vinous aroma. Raisins, cough candy, and Gewürztraminer flavours. Medium bodied, slightly oily mouthfeel, little hint of the high alcohol content. Gentle fruity finish.

Tukkis (13) - FINLAND - JAN 31, 2014
Bubbly and a bit foamy. Clear, oaky color. Leathery aroma. Sour but not bitter taste, not sweet, slightly salty. Palate remains pleasing, with medium body and lively carbonation.

Pizd (435) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2014
(Bottle): Pours bronze in colour with an off white head. Malty, caramel aromas and an odd yeasty aroma too. Very caramel forward in the taste, slight sour notes, dried fruit, slight spice. Not my cup of tea really.

This used to be a good beer but now all the bottles I have had recently have been off. i.e. Bad. Their qualtiy control had gone out the window. These are the bottle numbers that I have opened and tipped down the drain. E44509, E43504, E43704, E43795, D43861, D34971. There have been a number of other bottles but I did not take down the numbers. I have been on the Breakspear web site to complain but I have had no reply. ASDA, where I bought this beer have given me, have said sorry and have given me more of the same and when my wife went shopping there last week this beer was on offer at £1. They are trying to sell this off quick. Watch out !!! If this was in a Pub you would be back to the bar and get it changed or your money back, dam quick.
