COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Marris Otter, Black, and Crystal malts, Oats, Target hops.
Launched as a 7.2% abv bottle conditioned beer in 2005 when the brewery moved to Witney. In 2011 briefly switched to filtered in 330ml bottles, then back to bottle conditioned at 6.7%, later returning to 500ml bottles. Name changed from Triple to Triple III in 2015.
Thanks to the two fermentations in the Brakspear ’Double Drop’ system, this highly aromatic and satisfying strong beer delivers its rich flavour with subtlety and balance. Crystal, Black and Maris Otter pale malts provide the backbone of this outstanding rich beer. Hops are added three times to provide a good balance between bitterness and fragrance. This is a triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles.

Bottle. BCA - Amber Brown in colour. Foamy off-white head. Very Malty; grainy malts, caramel/toffee. Spicy. Fruity; dark fruits. Hoppy, grassy hops. Bitter hoppy meets caramel malty; quite dry. Very drinkable, but it is only a shadow of the terrific and original 7.2% version. Progress I suppose but not in a good way. (2014-10-03)

Bottle from Waitrose on clearance for 99p! Bargain! Colour of strong tea - pours with lively head which rapidly disappears without a trace. Aroma of pine, dough and treacle. Taste is mellow with lasting tangerine and faint coffee. Dry mouthfeel. All round decent strong bitter.

Butelka 500ml. Miedziany gleboki kolor z mala biala piana. W zapachu dominuje chmiel orzechy rodzynki. W smaku chmielowe ale nie gorzkie - czuc slody. Chlebowo tostowy posmak rodzynki orzechy ale takze "ziemisty" finisz. Dobre

How: Bottle. Aroma: malty, caramel, burnt brown sugar, Appearance: Dark clear brown colour with short lasting white small head. Taste: light to medium sweet, light bitter. Palate: light to medium body, slick to sticky texture, soft to flat carbonation. Overall: Strong beer with warm, medium strong alcohol aftertaste, most of taste remembers classic united kingdom brown ales.

Bottled, 500ml from Waitrose in Cirencester, Gloucs. Dark amber to copper with off white head. This started with a rich, nutty, malty character, quite roasty and full to the palate. The hops are earthy, leafy and reasonably bittering with an autumnal feel, pleasant leaf litter feel. There is a raisin and rum note, pleasant alcohol hints. I enjoyed this one.

Deep amber, white head. Fairly malty and biscuity aroma, nothing extraordinary but it’s quite intense. Medium bitter, burnt taste, coffee- and herbal notes in the finish.

Fairly standard stuff. Golden brown with a small biege head. Light body, low carb. Dark toffee and malt. Hops give some hedgerow fruit, pear and banana. OK bitter.
