Bottle. Color: Reddish brown. Thin beige head. Taste: Roasted malts, hints of nuts, red fruit, caramel and hop. Bitter finish. On the sweet side. Hamirubi (587) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - MAY 26, 2016
33cl bottle at De Vlaamsche Reus, at Wageningen in the Netherlands (26 V 2016). Dark, red almost black tanned bock with reddish gloom and swift diminishing collar. The nose is malty, with some hints of hops and pelleted fodder! A not that complex bock beer with a watery body. Not quite the best Dutch dubbelbock beer, I’m afraid. The beer has a nice look, but it is s little simple compared to most bock beers. The beer pours a little amount of soft white foam. The foam collapses quickly, to leave only a thin drape. The beer has a nice ruby red color. It is quite light compared to on their beers in its class. The beer is crystal clear. The beer has a nice smell. I smell some beautiful sweet ’n sour red forrest fruits. This is balanced out by a nice sweet aroma of syrup and some caramel. There is also a clear aroma of licorice. The alcohol aroma fixes a nice warming touch to the smell. I also can’t smell some roasty aromas. The smell is nice. So is the taste. The beer has more bitterness in the taste, giving it a little more kick than the smell. The taste has a strong and delicious almond flavor. The taste has a nice sweet caramel and syrup taste, combined with some licorice times. It is quite like the smell, but than with more almonds to it. The palate is quite nice. The beer is quite tingly. A nice bock beer, but not a top one. MelvinKalksma (1536) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 14, 2016

Starts medium sweet with malts and caramel; ends slightly bitter and dry with nuts, roasted malts and spices.
Beautiful beer. Head could be better. Malty aroma. Bitter chocolate, coffee and malty taste. Red-brown colour. Very nice!

Bruinrood van kleur, Schuimkraag is vrij snel weg. Geur is karamel/zoet. Smaak toffee/karamel met de bitter er achteraan. Mondgevoel is wat waterig. Niet zo zoet als veel bokken. Onder de grote Nederlandse merken de betere Bock. R4N5H (1193) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 22, 2016

A decent doppelbock, but, as with the other Brand beers, nothing too special. Just enjoyable. Boxereddy (479) - BELGIUM - JAN 8, 2016
