Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, molasses, caramel, malt sweet, nutty notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Borring. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081115]

30 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden amber with a diminished white head. Roasted malty and mild fruity aroma. Smooth malty flavoured with a light bitterness coming through the roasted malt and slight breadish flavours. Smooth roasted malty finish. Nice one.

Bottled. A dep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of malt and caramel, as well as lighter notes of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel and brown sugar, as well as medium notes of pumpernickel bread, and light notes of alcohol.

Leicht malziger Antrunk, der sich, im Gegensatz zur konstanten Herbe, deutlich steigert. Würzig, leicht süßlich, die Malzigkeit ist leider nicht vollmundig. Vergleichsweise spritzig, minimal Kräuter, dezent röstig. Eine gewisse Süße würde zum Ende hin gut tun, stattdessen wirkt der Doppelbock steif. Insgesamt ok. 11/9/9/8/9/9
