Cask conditioned - handpump - GBBF 2005. A golden coloured beer with a massive rocky white head. The aroma is quite sulphuric with some citric hop hiding away. The taste is a bit stale and cardboardy, but again there were some lemon notes lurking. We believe this was the last of the barrel which was a shame.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2017 Bottle at The Shed, Seaton. Huge aroma of apple cider (appley) with decent appearance, fitting profile for the area. Taste is of apple cider and a slight malt vinegar. Palate is a but pub floor but very quaffable. Really enjoyed this one, very fresh! 8-4-7-3-15 Bottle at home from shop in Beer. Same as above with slightly fresher palate but more see through and less special (occasion I suppose). 8-5-6-3-14

Bottle from Woods Village Store, Colaton Raleigh. Amber with a small glow and a very thin head. Has a surprisingly light drinking texture for its strength, almost (but not quite) thin tasting, with a pleasant fruitiness in both aroma and taste.

Cimbasso (1058) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2016
Sampled from a bottle purchased at Dunster Deli. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Rather undercarbonated. Aroma of ripe banana, surprisingly. Taste is of malt, ripe banana, mango and peach. Is wheat used in this brew? Certainly tastes like it. Very nice, but a little thin considering the ABV of 5%.

Bottle. Golden with a small head. Some hops with a gentle spiciness Distinct lack of body is a downside especially considering its reasonable strength. Bit of a let down..

Vladivostok (491) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2015
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2016 Pale golden with a tight white head (certainly at the Fountain Head in Branscombe). Restrained hoppiness with a decent palate. Quite a standard beer but very refreshing and ultimately moreish. Pretty decent. Re-rate: I’ve tried this again on several occasions and it really does grow on you. Rating appropriately enhanced!

On gravity at White Cliffs BF 2015. Ok light hoppy beer. It’s fine. Some grainy golden hoppy beer. Not too bitter. Ok

Cask-conditioned at the Bridge Inn, Topsham 15/9/2013. Golden with a slight white head. Light fruitiness with a hint of lemon, a trace of sulphur and decent, bitter finish. Fine.

Cask. Golden colour, mediumsized creamy white head. Aroma is sweet mats, nice nectary and floral notes along with some slight spicyness. Flavour is honey, sweet malts, nectar, grass and some wooden notes.

imdownthepub (15526) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2012
Cask conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Gold with no head. There is a sulphery aroma to this, eggy, farty leading to quite a bland beer really. There is some fruitiness perhaps, nothing that can be picked out, juicy fruit bubblegum came to mind. A chemical note in the close. Not great.

ALLOVATE (3089) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - OCT 7, 2011
Cask, handpump @ The Bridge Inn, Topsham, Devon.
Dimple, full pint. Manages to raise a decent sized white head of foam up and proudly out the lip by a good half inch. Holds and leaves a nice web of lace. The beer a shimmering, bright, sunny yellow gold. The aroma was a little displeasing,; first waft brought sweaty socks and barmats full of Friday night spills. Second whiff had lemon and lime citric notes, but still yielded those nasties. In the mouth, despite the aroma, it was all bitter beer as usual. Nice malt presence, biscuity and toasted grains, quite dry. The backend has a good spark of peppery almost Noble hop notes, earthy, good bitter bite to the swallow dropping off woody, dry and like sucking on a toothpick. Light bodied, well conditioned to reach 5.0% ABV as it seems lighter. Goes down a treat though, could easily session this without a thought, just as long as I don’t go finding more faults with the nose!
