Pours a darkish orange with a 1 finger, soapy white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, cereal, lots of sweetness, old citrus hops, light herbal and boozy fruit notes. Flavor is dusty sweet citrus up front, light stalk-like planty notes, tree fruit, a little tropical fruit, caramel, burnt sugar, light toffee light bready tea, and herbal notes to the finish. Medium to heavy body with a creamy to syrupy feel, light, sharp carbonation and slightly boozy, dry finish and a little warmth. Pretty tasty overall, pretty typical American Strong Ale, seems a little old, though according to the bottle date of 11.16.2013 it is less than a month old (12.13.2013), maybe some oxidization setting in. Still pretty tasty, like a young, hoppy Barleywine. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this improve significantly with a year or two on it... or turn into a syrupy cardboard mess. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, moderate to light heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, riped fruit, light alcoholic. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy hops, riped fruit, peppery hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Piney hop, spicey citrus, caramel malt aroma. Obvious strength lingers in background. Pumpkin orange color. Flat bitter, somewhat over sweet. Not too wheaty that I could tell. Heavy gut punch. Sort of one of those ’imperial ambers’ you see here and there. Thankful to chase dinner with it tonight. TaktikMTL (7798) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 27, 2013

Bottle, 22oz. A lightly unclear one, dark golden in color and with a dense, off-white head. Rather piney aroma, with some mint hints and a malty touch. Very hoppy actually. That goes for the flavor too, lots of bitterness and some alcohol. Pine cones, some mint and fluor and quite a lot of sweetness. Full-bodied and warming, with a soft carbonation. Long finish with bitterness and sweetness, and quite a lot of hoppy flavors. Quite nice, but too intense I think. 131122 Bamsen78 (5401) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - NOV 22, 2013
