Opaque black with a small reddish tan head and a bit of lace. Nice roasted malt aromas with hints of cherry and milk chocolate. Milk chocolate sweetness up front with generous amounts of coffee, and more modest contributions from dark fruits and caramel. Some smoke and warming alcohol are present. Medium to full body, no carbonation to speak of, creamy mouthfeel and a long smoky finish. koleminer20 (3840) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 24, 2015
22 oz bottle. The pour is a light black with a decent darker khaki foamy that falls down relatively quickly with no lace. The aroma is pretty heavy on chocolate malts and a light roast. There is a strong lactose sugar influence here as well. Other than that, it falls
Down pretty quick. The flavor is a little more complex. It's got a strong lactose to it. The chocolate and roast are surprisingly bitter, but the lactose dominates, almost to a point where it seems it might be affecting the beer in a slightly negative fashion. The mouth feel is definitely thin and creamy with a decent mouth feel. The aftertaste is surprisingly chocolatey and lingering.

22oz bottle. Very dark, black color. Very boozy nose! Loads of high cacao dark chocolate, hints of barrel aging smell as well. Charred flavor, burnt grains & sugars, fusel/booze. Finishes with notes of cocoa. It’s a big beer, needs to be shared, too much for just one person! (4258) ericdevin (988) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - AUG 16, 2014
Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. Pours a rich, dark brown, little to no head. Aroma lots of cocoa, Hershey’s baking chocolate. Body lithe, slippery, roasty, slight boozy bite. Overall, really well-balanced, with a lingering roasty bitterness. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUL 9, 2014
Bottle and served in snifter: Pours a deep colour, near opaque with a fading head (likely cocoa oils causing that), zero head retention or lace. A bit brash with heavy roast and char with dark chocolate overtones. Some herbal and piney hop notes in addition to the faint prune, fig, and leathery notes. Still the body seems a tad too thin for the flavor profile, not overly complex despite what wrote before. Drinkable ellolovey (483) - Georgia, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Bomber. Pours a thick black with a frothy mocha colored head. Aroma is so sweet. Loads of cocoa, caramel, and roasted malts. Sweet chocolatey goodness wraps around the palate. It’s so thick and creamy. Sweetness is balanced out by a nice butter tingle on the finish. Pretty enjoyable. ABV is hidden very well.
