sample at Food Bank bottle share. nice stout, fuller bodied black pour, chocolate, coffee, lactose flavors. balanced, good mouthfeel.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 7/30/2013. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense dark brown head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big cream, milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toffee, fudge, vanilla, light coffee, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with nice complexity of sweet chocolate/roasted malt notes; with great strength and no booziness. Taste of cream, milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toffee, vanilla, toast, light char, and roasted earthiness. Light roasted coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cream, milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, light char, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and cocoa flavors; with big robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy, slick, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial milk stout. All around great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, cream, and cocoa flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft. Deep opaque brown-black body, thin clumping light brown head. Roasty nose. Oily, slick, bitter body with huge roast and leather; also chocolate and ashy coffee. The flavor profile is much denser than hinted at in the aroma. Very good.

Black with a small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, brown sugar, vanilla pudding, hint of gingerbread latte, caramel. Slightly slick mouthfeel, full bodied, sweet on the palate. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, caramel, chestnut.

Rich dark black. Roast and chocolate huge on the nose. Much more chocolate with roasted malts, sweet (almost cloying) caramel, and smokiness. Big boozy and warming mouthfeel. Not bad but very rich.

22 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 and wihorock. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized thick, creamy tan head that left sticky lace. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, chocolate, some lactose notes, coffee notes, a nice smoky quality, cocoa, very smooth and creamy mouth feel and the 10% remains well hidden.

Black with a thin white head. Aroma is chocolate with roasted malt. Flavor is rich, dark chocolate with a pleasantly bitter roasted malt to balance. Decadent and delicious, especially with dessert. Wife: 4.25

A very good chocolate stout overall. Pours extremely black with a thin dark brown head. Aroma is of milk chocolate, brown sugar, and caramel. Taste is smooth with a very very light hops or coffee bitterness that doesn’t linger. Guessing most of the velvety texture is due go lack of carbonation. Contrary to the aroma, this beer is one I’d classify as sweet. Yes there is a sweetness, but it’s highly drinkable. Definitely get the chocolate and toffee flavors coming through. I’m semi clueless with the slight bitterness. It’s almost a subtle spice causing the flavor. This is a great beer to try. Not a traditional chocolate stout when comparing to others I’ve tried but still tasty. One of Brash ’s best.

Bottle. Thick dark black pour, nice bit of lacing and a ring of carbonation with a very big aroma of chocolate. Flavor is silky, rich sweet milk and dark chocolate, hints of nuts and just a little peat. Almost a little too sweet, but pretty solid nonetheless.

Black pour with thin, caramel brown head. Aroma is loaded with milk chocolate, nutty notes, some roast, a little char and dark caramel. Flavor chocolate and char up front, roast, roasted nuts, caramel, lactose, a little coffee, earthy grain and light piney hops to the finish. Medium to heavy body creamy to oily entry, light carbonation slightly sticky, still oily finish. Really good stuff overall. Gets a little boozy and too charred as it warms. I like a decent amount of char in my milk stouts too.
