Dont wreck a sublime chocolate experience by feeling guilty. Chocolate isnt like premarital sex. It will not make you pregnant. And it always feels good. Imperial chocolate milk stout brewed with real cocoa, clocking in at 10%abv, and making love to your mouth like a horny sorority girl.

This one didnt stand out as having any chocolate milk notes for me. I nursed the pint for an hour. Color is ink black. Pour is thick. Little head. Nose is not too strong. Look, it was a good experience, but not up there like ST Choklat. I feel the expectation of a real presence of that good ol milk chocalte carton was missing.

Rating #2295 - 2016.01.05 - 650mL bottle from CBI - this got some limited play in Western Canada on a Clown Shoes shipment. Beautiful dark brown pour with a fairly foamy tan head with mild lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Taste is oaty and thick, almost sludgy on the mouth feel, but layered with hints of vanilla and chocolate. Medium alcohol warmth. Depth of complexity and character for just another horny sorority girl.

Sampled at esbls. Very dark with a beige head. Big chocolate everything. Dry dark bitter brings dry bitterness. Roast with all of that chocolate. If you like chocolate . . . . .

Crowler shared in the Fart Dungeon, thanks to Daniel, 29/01/16. Pitch black with a dirty tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, liquorice, spice, roasted malt. Taste comprises roast malt, bitter cocoa, tar, liquorice stick, molastic qualities, black pepper trace. Full bodied, fine carbonation, rising boost in the close. Respectable enough impy.

Crowler shared by djd07 - thanks again, DJ! The otherwise blank crowler was markered up with the name of the beer and "about 10%" on it. Pours an opaque dark cocoa brown with a small beige head that settles into a tiny ring. Notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, ash, caramel, and tobacco. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a roasty, rich mouthfeel. Nice.

For my 10th beer rating on the site, the rating that puts me on the scoreboard for community beer scores, I wanted to do something special and review something I have a personal attachment to and havent had a chance to comment on to date. The brew I ended up settling on is Brash Beers Smoglifter, easily my favorite sweet stout, and probably my favorite stout of the decade overall. AROMA Dark chocolate, chocolate milk, chocolate milkshake, toffee, cane sugar, caramel, and light roast coffee. Faint traces of plum or raisin hiding underneath. Roasty coffee notes are definitely present but very subdued compared to most heavy stouts and very delicately and exactingly balanced against all the other elements. APPEARANCE Pours dark from the very first drop, reminding me of the color of Kahlua with an extra dark tan to brown head less than a finger deep, but it hangs on all the way down. Bubbles on the bottom of the glass, not on the sides. Picture perfect. TASTE Roasty coffee and dark chocolate up front, dark chocolate and milk chocolate in the middle, with a long finish of dark chocolate and caramel sweetness punctuated with a pleasant belly warming alcohol effect. A roller coaster ride from lips to stomach. PALATE Full bodied but light, lively but not fizzy, creamy, easy, and satisfying to drink. OVERALL A real treat. One of my favorite beers. Makes me want to curl up in front of a roaring fire with a dense slice of biscotti, chewy icingless brownie, or even a box of chocolate graham crackers, letting it soak up all that malty goodness. This beer is like a tall glass of chocolate milk for a grown-up, and really makes me back to when I was about 10 years old in some strange visceral way. Brash Beer is a young operation that seems to have transitioned majorly in the past 2 years from Massachusetts to Texas, and from wide national distribution to regional taproom focused business. Not sure when or if Ill have the opportunity to try this beer again, but for tonight at least, Im in beer heaven.
