[7770-20150927] Cask. Roasted coffee and burnt wood aroma. Black body with a big long-lasting creamy tan head and thick lacing. Soured roasted grains and burnt woody coffee notes in the flavour. Medium-full body. Good, a little funky. (7/4/6/3/13) 3.3

Half pint, cask at Ye Olde Black Boy, shared with Finn. Fair tan-coloured head to a jet black body. Dotted spots on the glass. Mid-sweet, roasted aroma. The taste profile includes earthy malts, chocolate and liquorice followed by a lightly smoked ending. Smooth on the swallow. Pleasant stuff (Hull 25.11.2015).

2015-09-27. Very dark brown body with a creamy beige head. 3+ Aroma of dusty mocha, lightly dark malt. 6+ Flavour is quite bitter, ashy coffee character with an exceptionally dry finish. Bit of a chalky note in the aftertaste. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Not necessarily a bad beer but the exact opposite of what I want to drink right now unfortunately. Cask at The Lamb & Flag, Leeds.
