Bottle shared at Cotteridge convention 05/03/2016. A caramel / amber coloured pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is woody and earthy, boozy, heather, hint of brett sour. Flavour is composed of tangy orange rind, woody heather and earth, caramle, brandy and tangy sour grape, . Tabngy apple in the finish. Palate is medium full bodied, highish carbonation. Good, lingering vinous fruits.

Leeds Beer Festival 2017. Golden-amber and very strong tasting. It’s very sweet too but not overly enjoyable.

Bottle split at CCii, thanks to Danny, 05/03/16. Cheshunt brown with a decent off White head. Nose is sweet malt, toffee, fruit cake, dates, brown sugar. Taste comprises toasted brown sugar, syrup and figs, toffee, light spice, fruit loaf. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a spur edge. Decent.

Stumpy bottle with red wax as ’Brass Castle Wallop’, 7.7%, BB Oct 2016. Shared at Cotteridge Wines II. Hazy dark brown, small foamy tan head. Aroma is brandy, red berry, sour grapes, whisky. Spirituous and fruity. Body is smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is brandy, a little sour, red berry, black grapes, some booze. Great stuff. Nice complexity.

Bottle. Cotteridge Beano v2. Lovely, fruity malts. Treacle. Some woody notes. Taste is light sweet. Some tang. Light astringency on the palate. Good stuff. Smells better than it tastes, though.

Bottle at CWC II; dark brown pour with a frothy tan head, aroma has some whisky and sweet molasses, medley of complex tastes in this dark winter fruits, treacle cake, some winter spice.

Scopey (16549) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2016
Bottle thanks to Dirty D at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It pours deep reddish mahogany brown with a decent beige head. The nose is rich and malt-driven, wood, vanilla, hot cross bun, vinous and dried berry. The taste is rich, vinous, dark fruits, fruit compote, oak, fruit cake, Victoria sponge, jammy strawberry and some bitterness with a dry, woody finish. Full body, fine carbonation and slick mouth-feel. Great depth of flavour and complexity, yet remains very drinkable. Tasty.
