341ml bottle. Pours a cloudy pale amber with a white head. An almost pumpkin/squash like note, biscuity malt notes, light spice, wheat, and rooibos on the nose. As for taste, well, rooibos, earthy notes, a little bit of a black tea note, light spice, and light straw into yeast, more malt notes, rooibos, and light apple in the finish. It’s interesting, and I would buy it again, however, if you’re not into rooibos tea, this is definitely not going to be your thing.

Hazy pale golden coloured body with hints of honey and bronze and a thinnish, single centimetre tall off-white head after a few centimetres taller right after the pour. Aroma of tea (shocker), fruits (again...), light grain, honey, yeast and a good note of herbal and grassy qualities - definitely fitting for this style of beer (herb/spice). Medium-bodied; Assertive and defining qualities of tea, grain and yeast up front with a light hit of sorghum and millet (also african) and a light spatter of sugars. Aftertaste shows some herbs, a little yeast, grain and a definite rooibos (fruit/herbal tea) flavour that permeates. Overall - true to the name of the beer and the style, however, this doesn’t translate to a great beer on all fronts. That said, if you like light blonde ales and also love tea in general or rooibos tea, specifically - you’ll like this beer very much. Nice to try and a good reminder of why I’m going down to the motherland [of humanity] in the first place. I sampled this 355 mL bottle purchased from Marche des Saveurs du Quebec in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 20-September-2014 for CA$2,55 sampled at home in Washington just two days before leaving again for the great country of South Africa, this time bringing not only a wife, but two kids.

341 ml bottle from St. Nicholas Metro. Pours a lightly cloudy golden yellow with modest-sized white head and fairly steady stream of bubbles. Tea is the primary note in the aroma with wheat, flowers and spices. Flavour has perfumey flowers, Rooibos tea, sweet wheat and a little spiciness. Medium body. Not terrible, not great, but certainly odd.

Bottle: Poured a deep golden color ale with a medium foamy head with light retention. Aroma of Rooibos tea is quite dominant with light unrefined grainy notes also perceptible. Taste is a weird mix between the some unrefined wheat malt notes and some Rooibos tea with a light astringent finish. Body is light with good carbonation. This mix between tea and beer is not the easiest to put together and I must admit that this si not a case were the experiment was successful.

Bahumat (168) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 24, 2013
Aroma: Wheat and rooibos tea.

Appearance: Pours cloudy lager with a deep orange note here and there.

Taste: The taste of the Rooibos beer is overwhelming, with citrus and wheat notes underneath.

Palate: Just fine. Fizzy and gently astringent.

Overall: Bad. 6/20. The intensity of the Rooibos is just too overwhelming and the lingering flavors really don’t do the beer any favors.

Bottle 341ml.
Pours sligthly hazy pale golden with low white head. No lacing. Aroma is of smoke, flowers, spices, perfume. Taste is of flowers, ""tea"", sligth spices. Palate: Ligth body. Overall: Not good. Perfume. Weird tea. Nothing interesting here, drain pour.
