Our Blanche is based primarily on a German-style Hefeweizen wheat beer, with a hint of spices inspired by the Belgian tradition. Hints of cardamom, clove and banana contribute to a mild and refreshing taste experience.

Lubiere (13900) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 6, 2013
A hazed blonde wit with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a sweet lemony malt with herbal notes and light sulfur. In mouth, sweet fruity malt malt with spices and light off notes. On tap at Noire et Blanche, Nov. 25 2012.

My Bottom Line:
Cakey spices abound in this creative take on a Weizen, as clovey phenolics met cardamom and lush wheat.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy white.
-Eggy, sulphury angles were found in the nose, but never were bothersome.
-Flavor profile is a tad sweeter than your average Weizen. Better attenuation (and quieter spices) might make this more drinkable.
-This is quite powerful in the flavor department for a "Blanche". I’d like to know how the typical lover of the style/colour reacts after trying it.
-Carbonation is fierce, helping the spices in appearing restrained in the flavor profile. They are quite prominent in the aroma though. Perhaps too much so?
-I’m looking forward to trying this from a bottle. Might even express itself better.

On tap at the Mondial.

pours a hazy golden with a decent white head, retention and lacing is ok. wheat and masala spices without cinnamon. tart tropical fruits in the nose. taste is cereals, mainly wheat, soft wheat, still with a dry finish. light but very pleasant citrusy hopping. bubbly without being aggressive. quenching and good take on the weizen. would have again, maybe on tap?

Hazy yellow colour with a big white head. Citric, spicy and sweet wheat aroma. Maybee a bit too much lemon in the flavour. And a bit to sweet. Otherwish fresh and ncie.

(Rating #3917)

Bottle (341ml) courtesy of GregClow. Pours a hazy yellow/pale gold with a small diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of grain, chili pepper (oddly enough), pepper, wheat, citrus fruit and floral and herbal notes -- it’s somewhat odd and not great. Flavour of citrus first followed by wheat, herbs & spices. A bit watery. Average bodied. Odd aroma, slightly dull flavour and not on style -- just O.K. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 341 ml
Aroma: strong citric feel with orange peel and peppers. Hint of clove at end. 6+
Appearance: hazed , almost milky golden ale with medium white cap.
Body , Flavour , Palate and Final Notes: lighter in body. Plenty of ginger in this one , slight citrus on top, soft yet watery finish. Refreshing mildly tart brew. Bit more of body would not hurt.

Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 28, 2011
Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy pale yellow color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of coriander and light orange peel is satisfying with an OK wheat malt base. Taste is also a nice mix between some wheat malt with notes of spices including coriander. Body is a bit fuller then average with good carbonation. Nothing earth shattering but nicely drinkable.

Veiled pale gold topped by a lasting white hat. Citrusy (lime) and tea-like, herbal, spicy nose with chamomile, cardamome and ginger notions. Abundant carbonation lends a mineral, slightly acidic side that blends nicely with the citric aspects to make for a quenching ensemble despite the fair amount of residual sugars that bring it more into lemonade territories. Light on the palate with watery edges. A nice hybrid tweak that I’d prefer with slightly increased yeast character and a bit more subtlety on the spices, but already a fine refreshing summer ale.

Holmen1 (5873) - Stavanger, NORWAY - MAR 29, 2015
