Bire dinspiration europenne

Our Blanche is based primarily on a German-style Hefeweizen wheat beer, with a hint of spices inspired by the Belgian tradition. Hints of cardamom, clove and banana contribute to a mild and refreshing taste experience.

Couleur jaune paille, voile. Mousse plutt fugace. Cheers!

pours a hazy golden with a decent white head, retention and lacing is ok. wheat and masala spices without cinnamon. tart tropical fruits in the nose. taste is cereals, mainly wheat, soft wheat, still with a dry finish. light but very pleasant citrusy hopping. bubbly without being aggressive. quenching and good take on the weizen. would have again, maybe on tap?

On tap at the brewery. It is a slightly cloudy gold. It is thin bodied but smooth. Nice cardamom & coriander in the nose which remain present in the mouth and are joined by a solid spicy wheatiness.

My Bottom Line:
Cakey spices abound in this creative take on a Weizen, as clovey phenolics met cardamom and lush wheat.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy white.
-Eggy, sulphury angles were found in the nose, but never were bothersome.
-Flavor profile is a tad sweeter than your average Weizen. Better attenuation (and quieter spices) might make this more drinkable.
-This is quite powerful in the flavor department for a "Blanche". Id like to know how the typical lover of the style/colour reacts after trying it.
-Carbonation is fierce, helping the spices in appearing restrained in the flavor profile. They are quite prominent in the aroma though. Perhaps too much so?
-Im looking forward to trying this from a bottle. Might even express itself better.

On tap at the Mondial.

From 341ml bottle. Pours a hazy straw hue with very ephemeral head presence. Interesting aromatic profile for a hefeweizen, almost a clean mineral note with grainy undertones and saison barnyard character to it. A bit of spice and citrus up front in the flavor melds with a light astringency and sourness, which carries through to compliment an abrupt and grainy finish. Lively carbonation adds to a pleasant mouth-feel; I found the brew to feel wet on the palate in a sense that it makes you feel hydrated after each sip, very refreshing, and an almost slick character to it as though oats were present in the grain bill. A great thirst-quencher for the hot summer months.

341 ml bottle. Pours a very foggy, whitish yellow with a short lasting white head. Smell is yeast, spices. Taste is wheat, yeast, bananas, cloves, sweetbread. Some coriander, too, peppery. Finish is dry, somewhat citrusy at the end. Body is average to thick, mouthfeel is soft, light. Very good wit-weizen hybrid!
