Boum!

Hops. Hops. Even more hops. Alright... we got it... and we deliver. Here is La Houblonière. It is essentially an intense hop infusion... disguised as a blond ale. We kept the malt flavors as well as the alcohol content under control so you could experience an explosion of hops in your mouth. Boom!

A well done APA. Lively carbonation from the start (while pouring the beer) to the finish. Very Hoppy (mostly citrus and spruce). Did I say very hoppy? Very nice looking beer, golden/orange honey color, very cloudy, with a nice thick but medium lasting white/yellow head. Medium sweet taste with a hanging bitter, but like the head, not over lasting. A nice creamy ale with lively carbonation with a bitter finish. I’ve enjoyed it.

Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy blond color. Dry, highly carbonated, hence I believe it fermented out of control; strong bitterness wirh amounts of chicory bitterness.
Very unprofessional.

500ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours a hazy golden brownish colour with a tiny white head. Nose has herba hope notes with a biscuity and cardboard influence. Flavour is agressively bitter and astringent. I can’t get more from this beyond the bitterness.

Hazy, amber. Thin head. On the aroma, the hops come across as lychee and mint. Bitter, with a minty accent, and a slight herbal accent. It gets a bit harsh in terms of bitterness, but ok hop note.

mcberko (18979) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 5, 2017
500mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of cardboard, some herbal hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is similar, with subdued hop flavour that leaves a very aggressive astringency and crisp biscuity malt. Very aggressive bitterness that is too sharp. Meh.

Metalchopz (3536) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 6, 2017
Very nice fresh hop aromas in this one. A mix of citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, limes), grasses and even sweet yeast (kind of Belgian Ale ones). The taste is quite bitter, sharp. Like pure citrus zest. Hop bomb? Oh yes. Hazy golden colour with orange hue. Whitish head, soapy, long lasting with some decent lacing. Quite the hop grenade.

pours hazy very light golden with a small white cap offering some retention and lacing. leafy citrus, lupuline powder, tropicalness - mangoes for instance; tea leaves, hint of sweetness - very floral and obvious honey; peppery orchard fruitiness, clean fruity yeast. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily; almost balanced piney-resinous-citrusy finish. almost juicy citrus with fun honey volatiles. definitely different from original houblonnière.

on tap at brewpub. cloudy golden, nicewhite head, some lacing. dry grassy hops, pellets, loads, tons of lemony esters, light vanilla, light malts. average to soft carbonation, light body - thin, relatively short finish.

Bottle, 50cL. Home. A yellow hazy opaque beer with yeast sediments ; beautiful big omelet-like foamy head ; good retention and lacing. Herb, resin, fruits (citrus), flower, light spice, caramel. Light to medium dry bitter refreshing, light spicy, sweet note. Light body, thin texture, soft carbonation, dry bitter spicy harsh lasting finish. Overall, just ok. Rough around the edges. Very hoppy. In the label : "Intense hop infusion" ; I agree... Maybe the bottle was a bit old. I’d like to taste another younger one.

Diogène (1208) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 12, 2016
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2016 Bouteille.

AgentAle (1812) - Fort Mcmurray, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 23, 2016
Aroma is sweet malts, honey malts, citrus , earthiness and toasted bread. Taste is sweet malts which are surrounded by slight funk, earthiness and honey. The hop profile is deep but not overpowering. Appearance is a hazy gold with a medium frothy head that retains fairly well. Slight sediment deposits on bottle of glass.
