3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bonne odeur vive. Belle couleur rouge foncé. Pas de mousse et peu de dentelle. Goût acre de cannelle. Reste de l’amertume en arrière goût. Je trouve qu’elle tourne plus vers une rousse qu’une brune.
Bottle. Clear dark amber, creamy beige head. Aroma of stone fruits, malt. Taste is dark fruits, malt, pepper, nuts, spice, yeast. Strange overall. VDuquerroux (1821) - Airvault, Haut-Poitou, FRANCE - JAN 3, 2017
Bottle, 341mL. Home. A shining dark brown beer with a medium off-white head ; medium retention. Caramel, dried fruits, prune, sugar, candied fruits. Medium round sweet, light warming, light dry bitter refreshing. Medium body, light to medium texture, average carbonation, sweet toffee finish. Overall, enjoyable. alex_leit (5025) - Minsk, BELARUS - APR 4, 2016

Dark brown pour. Belgian yeast, caramel, brown sugar and some nutmeg.m2dium bodied. Drier than expected sporting a fairly watery mid palate. More disappointing than expected given the aroma. radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 10, 2016
341ml Bottle. Deep mahogany in colour with a thin off-white head, light lacing. The aroma is of caramel, dark fruits, some brown sugar, bready. Flavour is of light roasted malts, dark fruits, plums, some spice. Warming mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, quite bitter with a fair amount of alcohol burn. Not what I was expecting. Lacking the body of other Dubbels, sweetness of the aroma doesn’t carry over to the flavour. Just ok.

341ml Bottle. Dark ginger clear color with a beige head. Aromas of amber malts, candi sugar and notes of roasted wheat if I’m not mistaken. taste is based on cereals, not too thick, not too dry. Roasty yet not agressive. I do not detect any hazelnut as described on the label but if it’s there, it’s very subtle. Not very hoppy but that’s not what I was expecting from it. finale is somewhat dry and sweet. I like it but was expecting more because I don’t really feel the yeasty belgian signature I was looking for. AleRider78 (1411) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2015
Nice! Pours a dark brown colour with a light brown coloured foamy head that sticks around till the midway point. Fair carbonation. Good clean mouthfeel, not much of a bitter aftertaste, as was expecting. Aromas of coffee grinds, caramel, malts. Flavours of dark roasted malts, coffee, molasses, spices. Easy going down. Reasonably priced and can be purchased individually (not having to buy six pack). Stoned99 (1649) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 19, 2015
Bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: dark fruits, caramel, floral. App: clear brown reddish, small beige head. Taste and palate: medium to full body, medium sweetness, fruity dry finish. Overall: good surprise, maybe because I wasn?t expecting much but ended up really liking it. Quite easy to drink. Beardbeerman (341) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 15, 2015
Pours a hazy brown sporting a deep amber hue, topped by a finger of fizzy/creamy tanned head. Retention is moderate and fine lacing remains as the head sets. The nose is sweet, milk chocolate, hazelnuts, dark fruits. The taste is milk chocolate paired with roasted nuts. Sesame seeds. Very liquourish but not boozy. Carbonation is not really present on the tongue. Finishes long, nutty, earthy and moderately bitter. Very good beer to pair with your favorite decadent dessert. Cheers! gramity (1678) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 10, 2014
Pours a dark ruby brown with a thin off white top. Aroma is roasty malts and raisins. Taste is well carbonated, fizzy mouthfeel with fig, raisin and roasted malt.
