Ah, the English bitters! This ubiquitous style is found in pubs throughout Britain. Featuring a slightly malty and dry hoppy profule, bitters are prized as easy-drinking, thirst-quenching session ales. Our Seiglerie offers they typical light maltiness of a traditional bitter and typical English hops but introduces an unexpected spicy flavour via the addition of a decent amount of malted rye. Dry hopping adds a floral finish without bringing excessive bitterness.

Bottled, from Broue Ha Ha, Gatineau. Cloudy amber, rich firm head. Grapefruity nose with some pears. Dry with light body and clean mouthfeel. Crisp peppery bread, pear, yeast and citrus. Metallic resiny finish. Nice, until the finish which is too sharp and metallic.

A hazed amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, a sweet biscuit malt with rye and vegetal notes, and light cinnamon notes. In mouth, sweet grainy malt with light British hop, a bit of metallic rye notes, a bit off. On tap at St-Graal, Nov. 25 2012.

Bouteille 50cl. Cuivre, col pais crmeux blanc cass. A seulement 4%, facile dguster.

My Bottom Line:
Floral hops and spicy rye develop a delicate profile for this dry and bubbly session ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the hazy pale amber.
-Carbonation feels forced, which it shouldnt for this type of brew, imho.
-Drinkability is very high, which I love.
-Light doughy sugars are found here and there.
-Hops contribute light earthy bitterness too.

Bottle.

[Bottle (500ml)] Note: Im certain this bottle is quite old so I will take that in consideration when rating this. Pours a hazy dark orange with a large long-lasting fluffy off-white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of rye malt, decent amount of hops, light spices, some oxidation and fruit. Pleasant enough flavour of bready rye malt, UK hops, light spices, fruit and an average bitter finish -- good amount of flavour for the low abv. Average bodied. Nice session beer, Ill have to try it again fresh.

Bottle: Poured a light brown color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light dry caramel malt with a dry floral hoppy finish. Taste is dominated by dry caramel malt with wonderful floral hoppy notes. Body is light with good carbonation. Rye notes are not that dominant by hoppy floral finish is really great I wish I had access to more 4% ABV beer that are so flavourful.
