A blonde pils with a thin white head. In aroma, classic czech pils with mineral character, biscuit malt and saaz hops. In moutb, a smooth biscuit malt with light mineral notes, light boiled veggies OK. dandeman (1079) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 12, 2013
Nose is in sweet malty accents; Candi sugar, jujube, also with notes of cereals. Aroma sticking out average with slight metallic notes. Quevillon (3186) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 8, 2013
Appearance: Gold, perfectly clear, average size sparkling and rocky head with a short lasting and no lacing.
Taste: Attack is mainly with cereals and grain but bitterness is showing smoothly at the end with floral notes. Flavors are mainly Candi sugar and crystallized fruits followed by grain cereals and hay. Floral hops are also showing up but remaining too discreet for my taste. In summary, this beer is too much into cereals and not enough hops. Could be more balanced. Too much into sweet accents. But still acceptable.
341 ml bottle purchased at La Saucisserie BAM (La Saucisserie Ste-Rose) in Laval (Quebec) on May 7, 2013. Blonde straw, small head. Aroma of sweet cereal and dry, not too strong. Taste of very dry grains and grasses, high alcohol sensation, green herbs aftertaste. This is beer is as impressive as the ability to say the alphabet! UM02 (372) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 6, 2013
Malty pilsner not as clean or hopped as a German pilsner but then this is a Slovenian style pilsner. One can taste the grain a bit in the malt and there is a bit of sweetness but I like the strong character of the malt especially in this style of beer. I think this type of subtle classic style beer is somewhat underrated even though they are more difficult to master for a brewery than the strong tasting styles like IPA and Porter. Pours clear golden with low white head, fully diminishing. Aroma is of pils, spices, honey. Taste is of malt, sugar, spices, bitterness, weird nuts, honey. Palate: Ligth-medium body (!!). Lacking balance; too much sugar. Overall: Not too bad, but not easily drinkable due to that missplaced residual sugar.
Pours crystal clear yellow gold with a small quickly disappearing white mist. Aroma is straw and bread. Taste is slight honey, bready malts with a small hint of hop bitterness. Not sure what characteristics makes this a Slovenian Pilsner but it’s well done. SlovakSniper (5561) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 1, 2013
Bottle - 341ml. Beautiful golden body with an average white foamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with piney hints. Taste is slightly dominated by hoppy flavors. It carries malty, piney, and some grainy notes. Ends with a good bitter/herbal finish. Interesting. Boutip (6567) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 30, 2013
Bottle: Poured a clear deep golden color lager with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light floral malt notes with lightly sweet notes of cereal. Taste is a mostly dominated by floral malt notes with some lightly sweet cereal notes with a final dry hoppy finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Enjoyable though maybe a tad too grainy for my own personal taste. VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - APR 29, 2013
341 ml bottle. Pours a clear pale golden with a resilient white head. Aroma is honey, spices, pils malt. Flavor is cedar, lemon, pine, pils malt, and a touch of...wet cardboard? Herbal and pine finish, some pils in there, too. Medium body, sticky mouthfeel, average carbonation. You know what, I really was not expecting this at all when I opened it, and I think this is what they were going for. Kudos, highly appreciated this pils on a warm spring day.
