Pours dark golden, small lace but not much of a head. Aroma is quite heavy on gingerbread -- or even pumpkinbread -- and not much on anything else. Taste plays more on the "pumpkin" aspects than on the "gingerbread" aspects, but it’s really a variation on the same theme with just a hint of floral hops. This beer is utterly lacking in complexity (... I suspect this was pretty much the point of this one) and leaves a sticky mouthfeel. Not bad, but too simple, and seems like a variation on the same theme that is (slightly better) exploited by McAuslan.

Draught at Isle de Garde. Fairly boozy and sugary, one more in the long boring list of pumpkin beer attempts, will probably skip it next time.

On tap at LTDP. Clear golden-orange with a small white head and little to no lacing. Aroma is of pumpkin pie, caramel, herbal notes and light fruitiness. Taste is moderately spicy with caramel, medium spiciness and mineral notes. Medium body, watery. Medium carbonation. Oily. Spicy finish with a bit of alcohol showing up. Not horrendous for a pumpkin beer, but still cloying, too hot and not well balanced. Ok.

500ml bottle from Au Coin Duluth shared with wife. Aroma: Of course it smells pumpkins but it’s over powered by lots of spices including cinnamon, cloves and others. App: clear copper, no head, no lacing. Taste and palate: thin body, light sweetness, no carbonation, light bitter finish. Overall: really not impressed by this beer. No head, no carbonation, too much spices. Won’t buy again.

Bonne petite biere a la citrouille. Plus rousse que citrouille mais quand même très rafraîchissante et réussi. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear copper topped by a faint fizzy head with a light tan. No lacing, moderate carbonation. The nose is spicy with nutmeg and ginger but also caramel sweet. The taste is more interesting than the St-Ambroise version of the style, not only due to the caramel sweetness but also because of the carbonation giving a better texture. I wouldn’t go as far as to say this brew is easily drinkable since it does get overwhelming pretty quickly. Ceryainly not the best out there but a good one to initiate yourself to the style if you lack variety at your local spot. Cheers!

Bouteille de 500ml de rousse. Arôme un peu d’épice style gingembre avec notes fruité, herbal et floral (assez complexe). En bouche on a une petite amertume avec des notes de malt, céréales et notes d’alcool en rétroolfaction
