En bouche, quelle belle amertume! The Belle Gueule Houblon is a flitered dry-hopped lager. The nos will hit you with its intriguing floral blend of five American and Noble hops. Pours a nice thick frothy white head has a rusty amber appearance. Active carbonation, very bubbly. Thick lacing. Aromas of citrus and floral hops. Some pine scents also come through. Flavours of citrus hops, light caramel malts, fruity notes. Smooth and light creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good and quite different, being a lager with strong hoppy notes.

June 12, 2015 - with blankboy, jercraigs and mabel - 473ml can. Here goes nothing. Clear amber-gold with a smallish creamy off-white head. Generic bitterness, oily malt - meh. Taste is ... nothing, really; like a ever so slightly more bitter standard if clean Canadian pils. Airy, crisp, quick-finishing; boring, not ugly.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2016 341ml bottle, no date. Light Amber, notes of copper, dense white foam. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste is malty and dark hops. High carbonation, creamy and oily. Heavy for a lager. Long finish of commercial beer taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep copper and light amber coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, some light caramel, a bit of toffee and nuts along with a big earthy maltiness. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavour that isn’t really fresh, but shows some English and German hoppy elements coupled with a larger malt backbone, a hint of alcohol and a definite earthiness. Aftertaste shows some hoppy bitterness, a bit of grass and herbs and a more pungent malt finish. Overall, a relatively decent beer with some assertive hoppy flavours, but the malt is larger in this one and shows a bit of metallic and earthy notes near the end, but all-in-all, a beer worth trying if you can find it and want the convenience of a can! I sampled this 473 mL can purchased from the IGA Grocery Store at Rue Berri (Berri-UQAM Station) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 17-September-2016 for CA$2,49 sampled a few minutes later in the park close-by in Montreal on 17-September-2016.

Spab (4002) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 5, 2016
473 ml can from Trois Rivieres IGA. Pours a clear orange colour with moderate-sized off-white head that leaves decent lace. Aroma is cereals, caramel and leafy citric hops with a bit of a spicy note. Flavour is caramel and grainy maltiness with a rather green citrusy and floral hoppiness. Medium body. Solid.

First beer back home: Belle Gueule Houblon 6.2% A deep orange color with a thick beige head that vanishes fast. Floral and piney hops with a sweet maltiness. The taste is very bitter pine, sweet malts and ash. A hoppy lager made with five hops though I'd say they'd have done better keeping it simple. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
