Lubiere (14110) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 13, 2012
A rosey reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a smooth perfumey grain with light floral hops. In mouth, a nice light sweet grain with butterscotch, floral hops, decent. On tap at Festibiere de Gatineau, May 25 2012. MartinT (10014) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 8, 2012
My Bottom Line : probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 6, 2012
Strawberry jam, plantanes and various tropical fruit leap from this creative brew, building a quirky but certainly compelling quencher.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sustained head of foam decorates the deep red.
-The strawberry jam aroma (geraniol in tandem with caramelized residual sugars?) gets a tad intense with time; it simply never lets up.
-The body is rich and creamy; I have no idea if the blue corn and malted quinoa used are a part of that equation though.
-This is as elegantly executed as any of their brews.
-This is one of the most unique brews I’ve ever had. These guys are really pushing the beer world’s flavor boundaries and are always doing so in a most elegant manner. Bravo!.
On tap at the Mondial.
Sample at Festibiere. 27MA12.
App.: Cloudy pinkish-amber with a light tan rim.
Aroma: Really fruity, mainly strawberries and other berries, some grapefruit, tropical fruits, vinous, red wine notes, complex, fruity, nice.
Palate: Medium-ish body, fairly relaxed effervescence.
Flav.: Lots of strawberries, other berries, tropical fruits, apricots, nice stuff; off-dry with a a little bitterness and a lingering wine-like, berry finish.
Interesting. I am starting to really respect this brewer.
