stantheman (1167) - British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 20, 2016
On tap at Alibi Room in Vancouver. A pale yellow beer with white head and a faint sour nose. On tasting we find it slightly sour fruity low bitterness low malt. On balance it’s a bit sour and fruity. Pleasant but not complex. 3.6

adamnowek (3797) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUL 22, 2016
Bright and golden colour with a reasonably large head. Aroma is lots of grains and wet grass. Taste is a bit malty. Nice, smooth texture.

Draft - Light grains and some sweet honey. Clear light gold with a decent white head. Light grains and mellow sweetness with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Nice.

vadie (1261) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 6, 2014
Jaune pale avec une petite mousse blanche. L’arôme des céréales peut être une très peu florale. Le goût de céréales avec une finition légèrement amer. Facile à boire et rafraîchissante.

reebtogi (6488) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 9, 2014
12oz mug on tap at the brewery pours a pale golden color with a small white head leaving spotty lacing. Aroma is grassy with some grass. Taste is a grassy and mild spicy hop bitterness with a grainy malt sweetness. Light body with moderate carbonation. Typical brew for the style, nothing special.

XaenDovet (1281) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 18, 2014
On tap at brewery. Clear yellow. Aroma of straw and cereal. Taste is sweet. Excellent crisp dry mouthfeel. Very good.

Sammy (13348) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2014
At the brewery, a light ale, but some off flavours, like corn. Mild hops. Yellow bodied, like a pale lager. Bitter finish.

Oakes (19909) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 26, 2014
Deep gold, kind of kolschy looking. Thick white head. Slightly herbal aroma of German hops and sweet pale malt. Earthy, again a nice hit of bready pale malts, maybe a bit husky, with herbal hops...spalt maybe... Pretty good and accurate, a rare achievement in New World kölsch. Contains citra but doesn’t smell like it. Not sure how that works but it’s pretty cool.

cloudy blond color. Delicate aroma, mild bread and lacto. Smooth, but served too cold; the bready malt flavor is too light, and the bitterness, just a tad too much, covers it.
Probably it would be more Kölsch and more interesting if less bitter

2014-03-17, draught at the brewery, 7-4-7-4-14=36

Deep blond color with small compact head, short lived. At first there is some fresh aroma of tropical fruits, later followed by mild animal character, light grass and honeycomb. The mouthfeel is dry and lean, not weak; the malt flavor is special, bread, biscuit, dry toffee and honey; strong bitterness; some grass in the end (positive), but also some pungent thing in the back of the throat (3.5).
This would be a very free interpretation of a Kölsch, a good and interesting beer in any case.
