Light cherry wood flavor, has a bite to it, few drinks in tastes like cherry flavored dirt. But you get used to it.

In short: A highly roasted sweet coffee stout with some strange off-flavors. Just okesjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 6, 2013
How: Bottle 12oz, consumed a few months after receiving it from Savvy1982, thanks a lot Kyle
The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head with medium retention
In long: Nose is unsurprisingly full of coffee, a lot or roast (bordering smoke), vegetal and earthy notes, cocoa nibs. Taste has a very high roast sensation, highly roasted cereals, roasted coffee beans, strange earthy dark mushrooms flavor, chocolate brownies, smoked roasted almonds, old coffee filter, boiled asparagus, sweet liquorice, vanilla extract, residual sugars. Body is thicker and more viscous than expected for such a highly roasted 7.5% stout but thankfully carbonated enough to avoid the stickiness. This one did not win me over, a bit too roasted for its own good and with a weird coffee character which developed some strange mushroom/vegetal flavors. Seeing the mostly good ratings it looks like everybody likes this beer more than I do, you are all wrong. And I wonder why people call me a narcissist, is it because I believe my ratings are the only valid opinions on this site or because I love to rate beers so I can look my reflection on my computer screen?
Dark brown with a thin braun head and no lace. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, mild cherry and sweet malt. Taste of cherry, chocolate, lightly roasted malt with a dry and acidic finish. BrownALEx (459) - Portland, Michigan, USA - JAN 21, 2013
This beer pours dark, dark, dark. A wonderful tan, pillowy head follows the pour. A strong coffee smell is ever present without getting close to the glass. This thing is beautiful. Taste is all espresso mixed with milk chocolate. Palate is long and creamy. So glad I bought this. If you can find this get it. It is wonderful.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours black with a medium tan head. Malty nose with notes of coffee and light cherry. Cherry flavor with malt and chocolate before a roasty coffee finish.

From bottle. This is my kind of beer. Awesome coffee and cherry flavors with this dark stout. Savvy1982 (1706) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 30, 2012
Bottle at home, from my Minneapolis Town Hall glass. Pours opaque black, thin dark tan head, above average lacing. Nose is lovely medium roast coffee, light nuttiness, some biscuit, biscotti, almond, some light ash, very dry cocoa. Flavours of big, fresh coffee, coffee crisp, biscotti, berries. Mouthfeel seems watery, but the coffee is dominant throughout. Fantastic coffee, beer underneath leaves something to be desired. burgy (460) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - OCT 2, 2012
This is a really intriguing beer. I wish that it had been slightly beer in the aromatics department. Pours deep dark brown with off white head. Taste is heavy in smoke and coffee. Dont really taste much cherry. Palate is nice and full. Overall, I had higher hopes... tcanapa (17) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 14, 2012
dark beige head dissipates quickly, minimal lacing, not much aroma, light bite, slightly acidic nuplastikk (6511) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 6, 2012
12oz bottle picked up in Duluth. Viscous red-black pour. Chunky, patchy, rusty beige head. Wow, this is really nice. I’m not really too wild about coffee beers typically but this one nails it! Rich but melllow roasty chocolate backbone, with all sorts of dry bittersweet tones. Really has a great chocolate coffee smores taste, this is a World Class beer. Impressive.
