Pours dark like worn oil. Small tan head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Roasted malt, chocolate flavor with a little bitterness to it. All in all a damn nice brew. BVery (10501) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - SEP 11, 2009
BOTTLE: Dark brown pour, thick tan head. Heavy coffee on the nose, medium bodied, taste is kind of artificial (mainly coffee, milk), okay, but just not a great beer. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 14, 2009
Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, some peppery hints. Taste yields an astringent bitterness that gets in the way along with some rubbery hints. Nose is much better than the flavor. drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - AUG 13, 2009
Had at a tasting at a Hy Vee Wine & Spirits. Nice mouthfeel, but off aromas like spoiled milk, and a weak flavor finished with coffee. iamqueensblvd (247) - , Iowa, USA - JUL 6, 2009
classic stout aroma. excessive bitterness with a slight watered down taste. definitely better stouts out there.

Dark brown pour with tan head. Aroma of smoke and light chocolate. Flavor is also fake smoke and light chocolate syrup. Creamy mouthfeel with little carbonation. Not so great. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JUN 27, 2009
Bottle. Poured and opaque black color with a light tan head. Smelled of molasses, dark chocolate, and dark fruits. Medium bodied and sweet. Roasted malt, chocolate, and date flavors. Decent. jb43 (1650) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUN 17, 2009
(bottle). Pours a black color. Small tan head. Roasted coffee aroma. Malty coffee taste. Avg duration. Spare lacing. Soft carbonation. fidelis83 (2437) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - MAY 27, 2009
Pours dark brown with mahogany highlights and a 3+finger dusty tan head that has decent retention, eventually fades to a decent skim that leaves sparse lacing. Aroma is roast, sweeeeeet caramel, havarti cheese, creamed corn, sweet bread rolls, sour cream and custard pie. Flavor is roast, paper ash, spice, coffee with lots of artificial creamer, hints of berry, soy sauce, bay leaf, dry nutty notes and a strange - berry like acidity. Finish is cream cheese bagel dipped in weak coffee, light ash tray, mixed berry danish roll and crushed leaves. Palate is too thin for the style and too dry throughout, with aromas and flavors that lead you to think it will be more creamy. This stuff is strangely more "cheese" than "lacto" or "cream" stout, strange, but not terrible. Definitely not worth the $10/6er in my area though. bluemooner (657) - East Bethel, Minnesota, USA - MAY 22, 2009
Pours a dark brown color with a thin, tan head which fades very quickly. Body is very thin. Aroma of chocolate and roasty malts, coffee, and slightly sour. Taste is very much the same but with hints of nuts and continuing sour taste. Not a great stout.
