Pours dark almost black. Medium dark tan head that does not hold well. Character is somewhat thin. There is no creaminess in the texture as the name might indicate. Aroma is pleasant but not inviting of a taste.. I detect a bit of a burnt malt flavor a slight sour twinge and a coffee after taste. This is my third bottle of a six pack. All have been the same. It is not a bad beer. This is a drinkable beer but I will not be buying more.

pours chestunt-black with a thin tan head. nose of chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla beans. flavor is mostly roasted malt, with some baker’s chocolate and coffee. finish is malty and sweet. nice, but a little thin.

The aroma is of hops; rather floral hops, in fact. As I sip, I taste some strong smoke. Unfortunately, there isn’t much of a malt flavor. This fact makes this more of an average beer than a particularly good one.

This is a great stout, but the Moojoos that replaced this brew is superior.

Really excellent Sweet Stout, made in Lucan, Minnesota, Pop. 220. Funny how a small town can top them all.

CanIHave4Beers (4241) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - MAR 14, 2011
Pours a dark reddish brown, basically black with a small off white head. The aroma is coffee, ash, and dark rye bread. The flavor is roasty and fairly dry with a good deal of dark chocolate and some apple rind along with a bit of espresso and a mild tartness. The beer is pretty watery all together. This certainly beats that Moo Joos sweet stout they just put out.

Bottle. Pour is black brown with a kahki tight head. Aroma is sweet roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt and chocolate and a little soy and coffee. Palate is medium feel and slick with a chaulky finish.

Relatively good sweet stout, has that good cream flavor to it that is reminiscent of vanilla ice cream. Not quite as robust as Sam Adams, but still pretty good.

cbfobes (2888) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2010
Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head that diminishes quickly, there is strong notes of chocolate on the nose with malt, it has a decent chocolate kick but overall has an extremely light mouthfeel that I just couldn’t get over, something just wasn’t right with it. Not one of my favorites.

Bought for $7.49 for a 6-pack bottles. The weather is cold - a stout is called for and this fills the stout void for sure. Aroma is pleasant, but not too energetic. The appearance is very dark with an almost non-existent head. Chocolate is the most intense with coffee close behind. Hops barely play, but I guess this review reads a lot like the bottle now that I look at it. Sorry about that!
