3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle from drake party center, Kalamazoo mi. Pour is hazy thick looking coppery brown that is the same hue of brown as iced tea with lemon. Head is white, started high upon pour and settled to a thin sudsy layer. Typical (but amazing) fragrances of a beer of this sort. First you get smells of sweet floral and citrus hops then once the beer settles an lingering, malty and salty scent mixes in. Average carbonation and solid mouth feel that's a bit Effervescent. Taste has elements of floral hops and a maltiness that is like cucumber and melon. It's a pleasant, refreshing and a well done mix of flavors that have no big surprises except for the melon quality. Finish is atypical as its just slightly dry but really really clean.

C+. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Not too bitter, but i don’t like the after taste JPDIPSO (6298) - Wauwatosa, USA - JAN 29, 2017
Golden color with a modest off-white head. Resinous aromas, with a backdrop of honey, pale malt, and mix of flowers (with petunias, orange blossoms, and orchids). The aroma grabs me, and nearly overwhelms me, but does not wow me. Sweet start, with clover honey and sweet pale malt. A bit sharp in feel. Raw fresh hops take over in the middle – green, earthy, resinous, fresh picked hops. The name does not lie! Light return of pale malt in the finish. I appreciate the brew from a fresh hop/hophead type brew. It hits a homerun in that department. 11/12

Bottle sample in Sioux Falls. Clear amber orange color. Aroma of fresh hay, flowers. Taste is straw, grass. Tasty. MadShaolin (100) - - JAN 27, 2015
Very minty/citrus/bubblegum. Cloudy copper pour. Lemon zest. A lot of lingering tea. Has a great, fresh zest with a cracker malt backbone that helps stand it up

15/22S/167/14/2222 date code, tasted on November 5. Your guess is as good as mine as to how old this beer was. My tasting leads me to think this one may have had some age on it.
Dark amber color, moderate carbonation, small off-white head that fades quickly, but has good lacing. Aroma is citrus hops with bready malt.
Initial taste almost a British malt followed by hops piney bitterness, with the bitterness lingering into the aftertaste. The mouth feel is thicker than expected for the style, with the maltiness dominating the initial taste.
Due to the initial maltiness, which does hold up throughout, this beer is better balanced that a typical American IPA, but it is still dominated by the hops in the end. The hops taste is more resin than citrus, despite the aroma.
I really have no idea how this “fresh hops” IPA compares with what is expected from a “fresh hops” ale. Whatever the fresh hops are supposed to bring, this seems more like a standard IPA, except that the British-style malts are more present that with a west coast style IPA. In other words, I got nothing but a normal IPA with better malt balance.
I really like the almost British bitter-style malt presence. Even so, given the price demanded for this six pack, it will be difficult to justify buying more.

Pours a clear orange color. Aroma and taste are citrus fruits and some pine. Iphonephan (7475) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - JUL 17, 2014
From a 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Grassy nose. Flavors of resin with subtle citrus notes. Bitter finish. edwardbass (865) - Illinois, USA - APR 21, 2014
12 oz bottle from Discount Liquors in Milwaukee. Maybe a bit old? Aroma is malt and some wet grass. Amber color with a small head. Taste is very malty, with the hops in the background, though the fresh hops are obvious from the grassy taste. Not bad overall, but not great for what is supposed to be a fresh hop beer. I think a choice of slightly less overwhelming malts would have made this beer a great one. superspak (6211) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - APR 2, 2014
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, biscuit, light honey, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity of citrus/floral hops and fairly balanced malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, light pine, light honey, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, light honey, light pine, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance of citrus/grassy hops with moderate malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice wet hop ale. Good balance of citrus/grassy hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering. alliance100 (1187) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 27, 2014
