Mandatory - serve at near room temperature, otherwise it’s character falls apart. Pour is still dark coffee brown with shallow, nicely laced, brief, coffee-cream head. Aroma is chocolate/treacle, vanilla/butterscotch. Taste coffee and near burnt toast with a sweet center. Medium body slighlty salt with a sweet dark toast finish, leaving a sweet coating in the mouth. Pleasantly drinkable.
Original review of slight chilled bottle. Pours dark coffee brown with shallow, nicely laced, brief, coffee-cream head. Aroma is chocolate, treacle and nearly burnt toast. Medium body, a slight effervescence under the tongue. Initially sweet, then bittersweet chocolate, slight saltiness, and that near burnt toast finish that lingers on the palate. Pours a medium, well retained, beige head, over a clear dark brown (SRM 35) body.....nose is chocolate. light coffee, toffee/caramel....taste is sweet chocolate, coffee, toffee/caramel, finishing with a hint of bitterness.....mouth feel thick, slightly creamy, carbonation accentuates creaminess. $2 single at HyVee, Ankeny, IA. Nice sweet cocoa nose from the first pour. Filling a whole glass just brings out more of that milk chocolately goodness. Brownish-black in the glass, with a thick brown head. Taste is not as sweet as the nose would lead you to expect, but that’s not a bad thing. Instead, I get a regular malty sweetness of dark roast malt without being overdone. Not that estery, instead a good balance of malt with, well, malt. Bitterness is just there for support, except for a slight tickle at the top of the palate. Plenty of body to this, even though it goes down easily and quickly. Now I’m wishing these guys would expand to our area.

Pours a dark brownish black pour with a beautiful large mocha head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, licorice and malty. Taste is full of malt, with sweet chocolate, and espresso. Pours a thick black color with a touch of mocha foam. On the nose its sweet chocolate, oreo cookie and roasted malts. On the palate its very close to the nose with a full body smooth richness thats quite nice. Nice bit of lactic on the mid to late palate cleans up the finish nicely. Bottle. Poured a deep dark brown with no real head to speak of. Aroma was sweet, with a little chocolate and dark malt. The flavor followed this with some slight burnt taste and a hint of coffee. 12 oz bottle rec’d in trade with emeinz; thanks Eric. decent nose of chocolate; I love oatmeal stouts but this was as dissapointing as any I have tried - aroma was faint; VERY thin watery drink with little to no flavor..meh.
