COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of cream, coffee, roasted malts and toast. Very dark ruby hue that sits almost black in the glass. Small tan head that left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitterness. Palate is light bodied and light carbonation. Overall a nice stout.

Looks like a fresh pint of black coffee, near zero clarity, thin latte cap. Smells of fresh cream, oily coffee beans, sweet honey, more coffee, really a pleasant aroma I think. Taste - milk and oatmeal as promised, aftertaste like a dark roast with half and half, the oats take a back seat to the lingering latte flavors - mouthfeel could stand to get beefed up a bit. Overall, this is a solid offering from a brewery that is really hit or miss for me, Id recommend this to any stout fan

The Moo Joos pours as a black beer with relatively little head (for a stout). It has a rather strong aroma of yeast and dark malt. The taste has a good deal of balance, some sweetness, a hint of biterness from hops. Also I taste a slight amount of smoke. The palate is pretty good; thick and easy going down. A pretty good beer.

12oz bottle pours dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, lactose, molasses, and licorice. Taste of sweet chocolate, coffee, smooth lactose, toasted oats, finishing with slight anise and some bitterness. A solid sweet stout.

Had this at a tasting at the Four Firkins grand opening in Minneapolis. Has an awesome arome of chocolate and coffee and the taste matches the scent. Has a nice smooth taste going down as well.

12 oz bottle was a favorite find on my latest annual December pilgrimage to southern Minnesota. Pours an opaque dark brown with a slight tan head and spotty lacing. The first sip made me say WOW! Its so different, I almost hesitate to call it beer. (Chocolate milk? Dark egg nog?) Aroma is chocolate and anise with some roasted oats and definite milk. Body is full and texture is oily. Not much carbonation, and very easy to enjoy drinking. Kudos to Brau Bros. for the concept and craft. Ill gladly check out their other strange brews.
