What you’d expect from a good milk stout. Sweet and chocolately with a nice sourish finish. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Ericular (1032) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 31, 2015
Sampled at Northgate Andover beer tasting. Smoky, with oatmeal up front, and coffee coming in late. Travlr (25533) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 24, 2015
Draft at Local Beer in Omaha, courtesy of jbuskirk and HuskerTan, than you gentlemen! Also listed as Red Velvet. Clear maroon color, beige head. Aroma of cocoa powder and subtle peppermint. Taste has hot cocoa, peppermint, marshmallow. Very tasty. MetalNHopHead (2050) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - AUG 11, 2015
While I appear to develop a speech impediment whenever I try to talk about this beer (even though I know Joos is supposed to sound like "juice" as a clever way of rhyming with Moo, I keep saying it phonetically like "Jews"), I have no hindrances when it comes to enjoying the stuff. Some Stouts take a little time to grow on me. I liked this one as soon as I smelled it. Toasted oats, light coffee, and hint of vanilla-like sugar. Taste is redolent of chocolate, cream, rich malt, and a bit of black licorice. Moo Joos is one of my latest favorites among other awesome Sweet Stouts. Now if only I can learn to say its damn name.

The dubious selection at the hotel bar at least offered this novel sounding oatmeal stout. The results were not nearly as bad as I thought they might be. While I would probably not pick up more it does merit at least a couple of ounces if you run across a bottle and want a respectable Minnesota tick.
Aroma / Appearance - A rich black base supports waves of beige head. Cool oatmeal cookies on a ledge blend with smoke in a dry sweetness.
Flavor / Palate - Cooling oatmeal refreshes the tongue. Ash, cold campfire residue, and then a malty finish brings to mind the shadows of Founders Breakfast Stout. It does not belong in the same class as the best of breed but as a local offering this could make a solid daily drinker for colder months.
355ml bottle. Brown pout. Thi sis really not stout-liek at all and to me a very poor stout. Very mish-mashed between flavors and lacks any semblance of body. DCLawyer (2846) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - JUN 12, 2015
