Poured a deep dark and opaque brown with a light inch of tan head, quickly becoming a light tan ring. No lacing to speak of.
The smell is dominated by dark fruit and coffee with hints of burnt black malt and smoke.
The flavor is very sweet and creamy in a very classic milk stout way. Nice hints of light smokey flavors along with coffee and some dark fruits. A bit of light astingency but not so much to detract from the beer to noticeably.
The mouthfeel is light and creamy, even a bit sticky.
A pretty solid Milk Stout overall and nicely drinkable.
12 ounce bottle. Dark pour tan head. Nice nose. Cocoa, chocolate, milk lactose, some sweetness in the body. Good. poisoneddwarf (2620) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - AUG 12, 2017
12 oz bottle bought along Highway 2 somewhere on a recent road trip. Aroma is chocolaty, roasty, coffee, licorice. Pours black with a one finger tan head with good retention. Taste is sweet with a faint bitterness. Pretty much everything you want in a sweet stout. Good stuff. shrubber85 (11570) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUL 29, 2017
Bottle. Coffee, milk chocolate, oat malt, and hay aroma. Black with moderate brown head. Moderately sweet milk chocolate, oats, malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay flavor. Nice body. Very good. jb (3342) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 1, 2017
Super solid. Nice classic looks with thin sparse lace. Nose is standard but rich. A bit decadent. Gritty rich chocolate. MavDunk (108) - - MAY 14, 2017
Thin khaki head dissipating quickly. Cola black color. Aroma is roast chocolate, nutty and bready. Taste of coffee and chocolate with hint of fruity sweetness. Medium heavy body with a smooth finish. Very drinkable.

Nearly black. Two finger of tan bubbles. Aromas of coffee, black malt, roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Light sweetness. A little less dimensional than the aromas. Roasted malts, and light licorice, and ash. Still a nice brew. 5/12

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with decent tan head. Nose is chocolate and coffee. A little watery in the mouthfeel. A little too bitter for a milk stout. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JAN 3, 2017
Had this one multiple times and noticed some changes over the years. This review is based on the 2016 version. Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with an average sized tan head that quickly dissipates and leave behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of chocolate and light Hawaiian BBQ sauce with some floral hops and a touch of cream. Taste is where the oatmeal and lactose is better detected with flavors of chocolate, lactose and floral hops. Finish is semi-sweet with a short chocolate and vanilla after taste. ghostbeer (241) - Nebraska, USA - DEC 7, 2016
Delicious and creamy. Rich malt and incredibly smooth and decadent. I think the word is unctuous to really capture what is going on here. Lots of coffee, too. DeveloperGirl (17) - - SEP 17, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2016 Initially tastes sour and like an ash tray. Then realized it was supposed to be esspresso and roasty. Guess I learned what that tastes like. Its alright. Definitly takes some getting used to if you havent had this type before. Watery as well. Dumped it
.. maybe I got a bad one
