COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

ICEatALAMO (1358) - Troy, Michigan, USA - NOV 21, 2011
Overall not a bad everyday Stout. Not much of an aroma. Apprearance was nice and dark, with a thin rich brown head. Alcohol was not overpowering and the taste was smooth until the last sip.

Pours a deep black with minimal head. There are some chocolate and coffee flavors at work. Unfortunately, there’s also an undeniable hint of leather in the background.

Guerde (1297) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAR 4, 2011
(bottle) Pours dark black with a tan head that rings around the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, light chocolate, slightly ashy, with a vegetal aroma just lurking around that’s difficult to describe (could be green bell pepper, could be snap peas). Little bit of beef jerky. Flavor has chocolate, roasted malt, and some light raisin. Sweetness from the lactose sugar is present as well, with a lingering finish of caramel corn. This is actually the best aspect of the beer. Mouthfeel is fairly thin, not full and creamy as the description states, but it does possess a certain silkiness. Carbonation is quite toned down which contributes to the silky mouthfeel.

Nitro on tap at the brewery (Marshall, MN). Poured black, with a nice silky brown head and nice lacing all over the glass; thick. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Taste is coffee and caramel, some hops towards the end. Great beer; enjoyable and very drinkable.

12 oz bottle rec’d in trade with emeinz; thanks Eric. decent nose of chocolate; I love oatmeal stouts but this was as dissapointing as any I have tried - aroma was faint; VERY thin watery drink with little to no flavor..meh.

Tessic (1252) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 17, 2013
This stout poured a deep black colour with a dark brown head. Scents include cocoa, coffee and caramel. First sip was silky smooth with flavours of lite chocolate and coffee flavours. Finish is burnt and black coffee like. Burnt flavour lingers....

polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - MAR 28, 2012
Bottle. Aroma has notes of cream, coffee, roasted malts and toast. Very dark ruby hue that sits almost black in the glass. Small tan head that left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitterness. Palate is light bodied and light carbonation. Overall a nice stout.
