COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Pours to a black body with a thin tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate revel bars. It has that sweetened condensed milk chocolate brownies, oats, and barley. The flavor has a dry charcoal roast. Super dry for a sweet stout. Black patent malts, licorice, and chocolate. Almost something like a prune. The palate is medium bodied and dry.

Pours almost black with minimal head. Aroma of dark and sweet chocolate with a hint of coffee. Taste is light bitter and follows taste. Medium bodied with a slightly creamy texture. A bit fizzy on the carbonation and a very long finish. Pretty darn good.

Bottle - Pours black with a foamy tan head. Nose is milky dark malt, a touch of coffee, milk chocolate--and because it’s in the description, I do get some anise/fennel notes. Definitely has that oatmeal stout smoothness. Taste is the same. It’s sweet, but it’s tempered by the oatmeal milkiness. Subtle ashy roast in the finish, with dark malt all the way through. Pretty thin bodied, but velvety smooth and fluffy. Very nice beer.

Stellar oatmeal milk stout. Aroma of roasted grain and some dairy. Very light bitterness and soft milky flavors. Really well balanced and easy to drink. Pours brown. Had in the dells

Pours a thick black color with a touch of mocha foam. On the nose its sweet chocolate, oreo cookie and roasted malts. On the palate its very close to the nose with a full body smooth richness thats quite nice. Nice bit of lactic on the mid to late palate cleans up the finish nicely.

Bottle. Poured a black color with a medium off-white creamy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted chocolate malt and coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration

$2 single at HyVee, Ankeny, IA. Nice sweet cocoa nose from the first pour. Filling a whole glass just brings out more of that milk chocolately goodness. Brownish-black in the glass, with a thick brown head. Taste is not as sweet as the nose would lead you to expect, but that’s not a bad thing. Instead, I get a regular malty sweetness of dark roast malt without being overdone. Not that estery, instead a good balance of malt with, well, malt. Bitterness is just there for support, except for a slight tickle at the top of the palate. Plenty of body to this, even though it goes down easily and quickly. Now I’m wishing these guys would expand to our area.

Pint pour, on tap at BLVD in Minnetonka. Consumed on 9-26-14. Pleasant aroma features a chocolate milk scent. Pours dark brown with taupe head. Roasted and chocolate milk taste. Nice combination of stout dryness and sweetness. Dry finish. Nice aftertaste that matches the finish. Medium body. Enjoyable though not outstanding overall.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2012 Really good sweet stout. Pours dark with a bit of tan head. Smells like coffee, tobacco, vanilla, milk chocolate, and banana. Smooth and slick palate. Very milky and creamy with nice chocolate and coffee flavours coming through. Roasted malts. Sour cherry finish. Delicious!
