Pours pitch black. Seriously. I held it up to light and could not see through it. Brownish tan head. not much lacing on the glass. Smells of roasted coffee, chocolate and molasses. Taste is bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Nice creamy mouthfeel with little carbonation and silky smooth on the palate. I enjoyed this Milk Stout through and through. Had this at a tasting at the Four Firkins grand opening in Minneapolis. Has an awesome arome of chocolate and coffee and the taste matches the scent. Has a nice smooth taste going down as well. peteysmu (63) - USA - JAN 16, 2012

Looks like a fresh pint of black coffee, near zero clarity, thin latte cap.
Smells of fresh cream, oily coffee beans, sweet honey, more coffee, really a pleasant aroma I think.
Taste - milk and oatmeal as promised, aftertaste like a dark roast with half and half, the oats take a back seat to the lingering latte flavors - mouthfeel could stand to get beefed up a bit.
Overall, this is a solid offering from a brewery that is really hit or miss for me, I’d recommend this to any stout fan mully262 (56) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - OCT 2, 2013
Bottle. Very dark body with light brown head. Smooth on the palate, roasted flavor with creamy milk aftertaste.

5/04/14 at Red Cow Minneapolis, on tap in pint glass. Aroma is of roasty, toasty malt, as it should be. As dark as midnight with a thick, lingering head. Intense flavor of deeply roasted malt. Malt Heads rejoice! This is a yummy stout! Please sir, may I have another?

Thanks to mnbearsfan for this 12 oz bottle via trade. Poured a thin black with a mocha/tan small one-finger head. Nose was some smoke/ash, chocolate, molasses and brown sugar. Taste was vanilla, oatmeal, chocolate and coffee as was expected, but also some fruit (cherries?). Body was smooth but thin with medium carbonation. Overall, a good offering in a style I like, but I have found others I like more. demitriustown (1191) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - JUL 26, 2011
12 oz bottle: Aroma is wonderful chocolatety, nutty, roasted notes, oatmeal, almost a milk like scent, and just the slightest bit of alcohol. Appearance is a deep dark black with a medium to thick tan head that lingers. Taste is like malty chocolate milk, but in a really really good way. This stuff goes down super easy and for a big malty brew is quite drinkable. Overall, Really nice I like this one a lot. Cheers! hamilton23 (619) - Alpine, California, USA - AUG 5, 2011
Poured from 12 oz bottle. Pours black with about 2-3 fingers of creamy thick tan head. Aroma is toasted oats and some cocoa. Taste is some chocolate and toasted malts. Super smooth. Not terribly sweet, but still really good.
