Bottle. Aroma has notes of cream, coffee, roasted malts and toast. Very dark ruby hue that sits almost black in the glass. Small tan head that left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitterness. Palate is light bodied and light carbonation. Overall a nice stout. sodakotakid (230) - Belle Fourche, South Dakota, USA - APR 7, 2012

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, beige head, over a clear dark brown (SRM 35) body.....nose is chocolate. light coffee, toffee/caramel....taste is sweet chocolate, coffee, toffee/caramel, finishing with a hint of bitterness.....mouth feel thick, slightly creamy, carbonation accentuates creaminess. This falls well within the style of Sweet Stout and meets it quite well. For me, it is a bit too sweet, but it is the style. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7 yespr (44698) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 2, 2013
From tap at Republic. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, liqourice and breadish. Dark malty and breadish, liqourice and roaste malty flavoured. Bitter. dry and roasted herbal. Bitter and dry finish. camborne (656) - Hopkins, Minnesota, USA - MAR 7, 2013
Toasted malt nose. Bready chocolate maltiness. Very smooth with bittersweet finish. Solid tmoreau (4290) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2013
Gift bottle brought back by neighbors from latest Minn. trip. Poured to a Czech-pils glass showing a ruby highlighted, black/brown color, with a brownish tan, froth & bubbles head that gradually diminished to a thick ring & bubbly film, and curtainy cling to the lacing. The nose was a hint of sweetness, creaminess & smooth malt, roastiness, cocoa, a touch of vanilla, and coffee/espresso on the back. Medium+ bodied, the flavor presented a roasty, smokey, lingering bitterness that was propelled to the palate by an amped effervescence. Only medium malt backup, with the flaked creaminess more prevalent in the aroma imo. Finished with some tart and dry astringency. chinchill (4909) - South Carolina, USA - SEP 5, 2013
12 oz bottle, unbdated, poured into a SA lager glass.
A: pour is clear and very dark brown but looks pitch black in the glass. A gentle pour is needed to keep the tall mocha head from going over the top. Glass is thoroughly coated upon tilting, with some lacing clinging the glass afterwards.
Smell: Sweet and rich with a suggestion of cinnamon, a clear note of chocolate, oat bread, a touch of dark fruit, and a hint of granola. Very slighty, and pleasantly, boozy.
Taste: not quite as good or complex as the aroma, but still quite good.
Sweet up front but balanced by the finish. Hints of coffee, dark fruits and chocolate in the aftertaste.
M - Full bodied; very smooth; ABV seems hight than 6%.
O: very nice cross-over (milk + oatmeal) stout with a super aroma.
