12 oz bottle. Poured clear dark copper brown in color with a thin white ring of bubbles. Aroma of nuts, toasted malts. Tastes of toasted malts, mild earthy hops, nutty, weird citrus note that doesn’t seem to fit the rest of beer. thin body. eh. joebrew (608) - Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA - OCT 8, 2007
Draft ABR 07. Pours a nice deep brownish almost orange color, with a nice very light tan head. Nice nutty roasted sweet malt on the nose with a hint of sweet ripe fruit. Nice medium bodied beer with a slight nuttiness and a good dose of sweet caramel malt. Unfortunately this beer was overpowered by all the imperial, and barrel ageds at the fest, but when it is bottled people should definately reapproach it, as it was a very nice beer. incutrav (577) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - OCT 31, 2007
Tap at Stubs. Hmm, fairly high hopes for this one. I got a lot of coco sweetness to it, but overally thought it was quite thin. REally drinkable, but not as much flavor going on it the way of hops or nuts as I would like. Not bad overall. euniceradio (563) - Worthington, Minnesota, USA - NOV 30, 2015
12oz bottle to tulip. Pours dark brown with glowing red tint, absolutely no head to speak of. Aroma of cocoa, dried fruit, caramel, roasted nuts. Taste of the same with a super sweet berry finish. Mouthfeel is no carb, light watery for style. Can’t say I’m impressed. oakbluff (455) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 15, 2007
Pours a dark mahogany with some ruby tones. Quickly disappearing head. Nose- expected brown malt smell along with a raspberry concentrate smell. Taste- biscuity malts and ripe raspberries. Finishes too quick- not much complexity on the back end. Light hopping. Good cabonation. Beer is somewhat sour as you get into it.Decent effort.

Pours a dark ruby-brown, little head to speak of. Aroma is heavy with nuts, fruit, and biscuity malt notes. Smooth, creamy, low on the carbonation but without coming across as flat. Nice sweet nuttiness up front, finishing with biscuit and chocolate notes, without much in the way of hop bittering. Pretty damn tasty and not at all what I’d expected from the bottle. My first from these brewers and certainly won’t be my last. bigcat03 (340) - Columbus, Nebraska, USA - SEP 13, 2015
Bottle poured into an English pint. Had a ruby brown color and a thick tan head. Aroma is very malty with a decent amount of chocolate and a hint of fruitiness present. Taste starts off pretty fruity with a hint of chocolate but quickly shifts to biscuit with a hint of hops. Finishes off with a light hoppy bitterness. Palate is just right for the style with low carbonation. Very fruity for a brown but I like it! joeymacaroni (309) - Wagontown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 3, 2011
pours a beautiful deep chestnut color with a thin, off-white head. nose is heavy with brown sugar, toffee, nuttiness, and a light butterscotch. flavor is similar to aroma, with a bit of breadiness and dark fruit. nice and light, oily with a light bubbliness in the finish. finish is long, with a sweet maple syrup-like flavor balanced by walnut and toffee.
