(bottle 6/12/11). Clear brown color. Medium off white head, which is mostly diminishing. Moderate chocolate aroma. Flavor of the same, with light toast/malt. Avg duration. Dry finish. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing. johnnymusky (983) - Minnesota, USA - APR 6, 2014
UPDATED: APR 7, 2014 average brown ale...i thought this would be a lot tastier like previous brau bros beers i have tried...a little recipe tweaking and this could be real good. ozzy70 (1264) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - FEB 6, 2016
12 oz. bottle. Pours cola colored with no head. Aroma was coffee, roasted malt and nutty. Taste was a little flat but overall okay. drpimento (3731) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 2, 2017
Aroma is malty, cocoa, mineral. Flavor is a little like nose and chocolate milk that's fruit-flavored and not that great. Average body and too sweet of a finish. islay (2925) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 13, 2009
12 oz. bottle. Nutty, dry, slightly sharp aroma features Nutella, toast, carob, and caramel scents. Interesting smell. Pours a clear, dull copper to light auburn. Sparkling liquid. Large amount of fluffy, cream-colored head. Produces a smattering of lacing. Simple, sweet taste features caramel and brown sugar flavors. Dull aftertaste. Light body and watery; insubstantial. A bit lively on the palate. This is not my style of beer.

A strange tasting brew. Clear brown medium color. Very small off white head that quickly diminishes. Extremely small notes of nuts and caramel. Watery in texture and light in carbonation. It has a very strange flavor, I taste some sauerkraut in the back end. Might be because of drinking some Surly Darkness before rating this one that it tastes so bad. Thanks to Bob for the bottle! Poured clear coppery-orange with a short-lived cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up nutty notes, caramel, and wet hay with accents of cereal.. not much hoppage to note. The flavor found nutty and biscuit character at the core with hints of dark fruit and earthy bitterness around.. brighter and prickly as it warmed up, and it seemed like some combination of degraded hops and boozage.. toasty and sharp on the finish. Medium-bodied with creamy carbonation on the palate.. just a poor transition to the sharper stuff on the edges (the really didn’t do a lot of good).. not bad. 12 oz bottle. Poured clear dark copper brown in color with a thin white ring of bubbles. Aroma of nuts, toasted malts. Tastes of toasted malts, mild earthy hops, nutty, weird citrus note that doesn’t seem to fit the rest of beer. thin body. eh. SSSteve (4006) - - DEC 17, 2007
brown with a small head. chocolate, caramel, raisins, and coffee in aroma. flavor was stingy coffee beans. malty. bockish. Majin (256) - West Des Moines, Iowa, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Bottle, like four squares two are white two are green. Lots of text, didn't read it.... Dark beer, toasty smell... Toasty flavor. Decent.
