12oz bottle. Deep burgundy-brown color. Thin, oily head. Fuggles and sweet specialty malt aroma. A pretty well done, complex, American Brown ale. Sweet and malty, not unlike a good Scotch ale at times, but the oats make it quite Stout-reminiscent. Throw in the pleasantly mellow raspberry tones at the end and you have quite an interesting beer. Toasty nut notes as well. I get a nice bitterness in the aroma, but the malt really dominates, soft carbonation, true to style I suppose. Worth seeking out. One of my personal favorite brown ales. Easy drinking, and delicious! SiegLandwirt (1) - - JUL 19, 2013 does not count

Single bottle from HyVee. For a "single batch" beer, it sure gets around. I chose a Nonick pint to pour it into; comes out a rather yellowish brown. Smell is lots of brown roast malts, some nuttiness, and even a hint of coffee. Head dwindles quickly to a scrum. Taste is loaded with nut brown malts with a bit of peat. Some earthy and herbal English hops take the usual ale esters out of consideration. A big mouthful of flavor makes it easy to simply enjoy one and put the rest away for later. Not too much later, I get the feeling this would not age well. cards04 (2887) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - NOV 2, 2013
A surprisingly good brown ale and very unique too. Aromas of strawberry and bubblegum. A touch of sour cherry too. Smooth nutty flavors to go along with sour fruit notes. Very good.

Draft ABR 07. Pours a nice deep brownish almost orange color, with a nice very light tan head. Nice nutty roasted sweet malt on the nose with a hint of sweet ripe fruit. Nice medium bodied beer with a slight nuttiness and a good dose of sweet caramel malt. Unfortunately this beer was overpowered by all the imperial, and barrel ageds at the fest, but when it is bottled people should definately reapproach it, as it was a very nice beer. A brown appearance of course. Some nutmeg, chocolate, and toffee in the aroma. The flavor is somewhat sweet and contains chocolate, nutmeg, and toffee. Overall I thought this was a nice brown ale. thejoeshow (232) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - NOV 27, 2008
12 oz bottle. Pours a nice brown color with amber highlights. It has a nice white head that has decent retention and lacing. The aroma is wonderful! There are real nutty tones back with a soothing scent of maple. Yummy! The flavor is very smooth and warming. There are big nutty flavors in the forefront and almost a caramel backbone to it. Very delicious! This beer makes a great winter warmer! The mouthfeel is just a bit bigger than a normal brown and that fits in nicely here. I really like this beer. joergen (29007) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2013
