COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ring Neck Braun Ale is the initial offering in the Brau Single Batch Series of beers. A perfect autumn ale, this big double nut brown ale is dry and fruity, yet surprisingly drinkable. Nutty flavor is derived from both biscuit malt and toasted oats. A hint of raspberry and classic British hops round out this mild and complex brown ale.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is malty, caramel, slight chocolate cake notes, slightly roasted, not much hops here but very fiantly detectable with light grassy notes. Appearance is a muddy brown with a medium to low tan head that diminishes into a soapy film. Taste is sweet malts with a slight graininess, lightly bitter, and more of the chocolate and caramel note coming out in the backing. Palate is medium bodies, creamy and slightly thick, nice carbonation with a nice bitter finish. Overall, Nice offering as a brown ale. I would drink this agian. Cheers!

Bottle, this Brown Ale had a clear red-ruby pour and gave a one finger light tan colored head, carbonation was medium or so, a mild center stream with various streams of bubbles at the sides of the glass, left some spots and fingers of lacing on the sides of the glass, this beer had aromas of chocolate, caramel, toasted malt, some nut and brown sugar sweetness, I did not notice the hops in this beer, the flavors are chocolate, toasted malt, nut, caramel and brown sugar sweetness, this beer finished with toasted malt, caramel and a little sweetness, the finish is drier than the typical Brown Ale but with hardly any bitterness, the mouth feel was about medium, a nice Brown Ale, I would drink this again.

Brown color with thin body and modest head. Aroma and taste were a unique combination of toasted, sweet, bitter and a touch of sour.

12oz bottle from Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI. Pours a clear, deeper brown colored body with a thin, creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel and nuts with a touch of molasses. A bit of a wet cereal, a hint of fruit, and a light chocolate. Flavor is similar. Nutty caramel and some chocolate up front with a touch of biscuity cereal malts. Some toffee comes in as this finishes with a light, but balanced earthy bitterness that accompanies the malt sweetness nicely. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a very smooth, medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a really solid, well balanced, easy drinking brown ale. Nutty caramels, a light chocolate, a hint of fruit, and a balanced earthy bitterness making this pretty enjoyable. This was not exceptional, but it was very well done.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown. Very small white head. No lacing. Somewhat sweet aroma of molasses and dark fruit. Excellent nutty flavor with some roast. Medium Palate, but strong flavor makes it feel thicker. My first beer from this brewer. Overall a good beer, but really close to being an excellent beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained light beige head, with a bit of lacing, over a clear brown (SRM 24) body.....nose is light cocoa, coffee, chocolate....taste is cereal, light nutty tones, light toffee/caramel, cocoa, chocolate, finishing with a moderate, coffee, hop bitterness.....mouth feel medium, carbonation low. The hops were done with a relatively light hand (Fuggles), so that the malts come more forward than in many American Brown Ales. The result is a nicely balanced, slightly spicy, enjoyable Brown Ale. BJCP 8/3/13/4/7
