Maltser85 (358) - Fargo, North Dakota, USA - FEB 16, 2014Wow, I cant believe this beer is still on the shelves. 3 years old and awesome. Toasted coconut, vanilla, rye, spice, earthy. Alcohol is hidden well. Excellent brew after three years!
Ibrew2or3 (9062) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 1, 2014Red waxed 75cl bottle, courtesy of a trade with . . . (sadly, don’t remember). It pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a nice looking tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malts, molasses, a malt sweetened rye twang, some spicy wood that has a pine hop feel to it and a faint sweet vanilla note. The taste is smooth and pretty rich. It delivers thick malt sweetened notes, sweetened rye and then a mild to slightly harsh booziness. Around the edges are thin rings of spicy oak and vanilla. Pretty darn nice.
48FanInCali (857) - California, USA - JAN 25, 20142011 bomber. Nice brown pour. Nose of malt, booze, and vanilla. Taste follows the nose with some sharp rye spiciness. A little unpleasant bitterness on the back end. Not bad.

kwd1996 (24) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 21, 2013Dark brown, copper color. Small head. Whiskey aroma and aftertaste. Rye beer base not my favorite for a barrel aged beer but a decent brew anyway. Worth trying.
Steve_0 (3744) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 26, 2013Bottle at the parentals with my dad. 2011 Vintage. Pour is murky brown with a very small tan colored head. Caramelly, bourbony, toffee, raisins, figgy, light grapefruity, sweet bready, and toasty aroma. Taste is sweet malty, caramelly, lightly alcoholic, toffee, figs, heavy bourbon, grass, and orange peels with a light bitter finish. Thick syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Decent stuff but is probably a bit past its prime at this point.
